Real World Weather For FS2002

Tue Dec 31, 2002 7:50 am

I've never had any trouble downloading the real world weather for 2000 or 2002. However, yesterday when I tried to do it a message would appear that said "Operation has timed out". I haven't changed ISP's or anything like that. Is anybody else noticing a problem?

Yes, I couldn't download real world weather last night either. On the avsim.com forums they said the server might of gone down. I don't know if real world weather is working today (I haven't tried it yet) but I will try and download it later.

I hope it gets back to normal soon, I don't like flying without the real world weather on.

Well, as of two minutes ago it is still not working. Although I am glad to hear it's likely a server problem because my computer is only two weeks old!

I'm having the same problem with FS2K- so it is probably on M$'s end.

I never use "Real World Weather," mainly because when I'm simulating, I usually want it to be low IFR, and that doesn't happen all the time in the real world.

the weather servers are sometimes overloaded during holiday season. Remember that this is just about the only week in the year when maybe 90% of FS users are available for flying 24/7 and many of them will do so  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

A possible alternative could be if you used ActiveSky - it's a great freeware that'll add Real World weather as well as the winds aloft (currently only in the US as far as I know).

You can get it here: http://hifi.avsim.net/activesky/activesky2002.htm
