New Screenshot Competition!

Wed Feb 19, 2003 9:14 am

Last competition, I decided that I'd host the next one!

Here we go!

-.jpg or whatever you use, make it nice!

-edits are OK, but don't overdo it please, it makes an unfair advantage to others!

-Send in as many as you want, WE WANT TO SEE SOME SCREENSHOTS!

It's been almost THREE months since the last one started, so we need another one!!!!!

DON'T MAKE EM TOO BIG, though I have DSL  Smile/happy/getting dizzy Some folks on here still run on 56k!!

I'm still deciding whether what the winner will be (or possibly receive!!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy

Also, we'll have folks from airliners.net come on in and vote on their favorite, so I'm not the one to decide instantly!

How does that sound??

It'll start now, February 18th, 2003, and end on MARCH 17th, 2003 ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Ok, everyone have fun and enjoy, lets make this one REALLY good!!

Upload them somewhere from where you can link them, usually your ISP will provide you with some space you can use.
Then follow the instructions in the help page (which is linked to directly under the edit box for your message) to see how to put in a picture.

Thanks Clovis. Would you believe it's an old Abacus model for FS2000? It's 3 years old but still the only Starship out there for FS and it flies very well.

Thanks for your kind words Futura! I can only take credit for the time in arranging the aircraft and a little bit of post processing!

The real credits must go to Colin Work for his stunning photography and the folks at Project Open Sky for the awesome aircraft!

Hey!!!

Great!!!

After seeing all this stunnuíng screenshots i've got a question:

How can you fit a scenery or an airport with so much planes ( for example the Air Canada pics from CRANK)

I mean, in FS2002 proffessional you can see all the planes from the virtual airlines fitted in the simulator (Soar, American Pacific,ect...)

But if you are flying out from Toronto (for example) how can you make lots of Air Canada and a few US planes in the sim???????????????

Or flying from LHR, fitting the scenery with widebodies all over???

How is this possible ?

Please help. greets, Florian

I've tried Project AI but can never seem to get it to work. I downloaded every airline package and all I see is Delta. Ttools is very good, and so is AFCAD which can be downloaded here too:

Thanks so far Continental!

But another question:

---I've downloaded an AFCAD file and now I wanted to insert it into FS2002... Should I copy the files in the 'scenery' folder or in wich one???

Thanks Florian

You need to open up AFCAD, import (export if you want to save a copy of the default airport)the file and save, that's all.

What the hell's wrong with the forum. I swear I typed in the links!!!  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
Spotterboy: For Afcad, just download indivdual airport files. It'll open multiple runways and there'll be more gates for more AI Aircraft. Also, if you get the AFCAD autoinstaller, it's much easier!!

Maybe not liable for the competition but here's a little story from me with screenshots...

I have no idea how this happened to me. Anyone got a similar experience? After take-off from JNB with 115 passengers I did the normal procedure to retract the gear after take-off and noticed that not all gears are up.

Went to the spot plane view and I saw this!

I extended the gears a few times but as you can see, it doesn't solve the problem...

After extending and retracting the gears a few times this 2 boogies still refused to retract and here's my decision to turn it around.

Another disastrous news.... on finals, all the remaining gears refused to extend, and I went around, trying to do something to it and I'm coming in after 1/2 hour of trials... I'm declaring an emergency to land with 2 gears... Now on finals

A pair of nervous crew in the cockpit, flaps 25 and 2 gears, to land at JNB, final phase of the approach.

Compensating for the extra drag... and a pair of really nervous crew  Big grin

I landed it on first attempt, holding it for about 5 seconds on the left gear and finally it broke leaving me with the belly for the landing roll...

Spoilers didn't deploy so I did it manually..

Rolling to a stop...

Coming to a rest but where's the slides???????? And tell JNB to have faster emergency services :P

Phew! You shall decide whether we should write this off, this is the best I can do to save it, as an amatuer FS captain!!  Smile
