Your Favorite Piece Of Airline Memorabilia?

Sat Mar 22, 2003 6:47 am

Out of the various array of items from the airlines that the people here on A.net (myself included) have, what's your favorite piece of memorabilia you've picked up over the years?

Mine has to be the row of seats I got for a birthday present a few years ago in CMH. I have no idea what airline/airplane it came out of, although the seats are blue with three diagonal gold lines (the same color as the first class logo)in a pattern every so often on the seats. Can anybody identify where it's from?

Your Favorite Piece Of Airline Memorabilia?

Butter knife from Aeroflot. Complete with engraved sickle and hammer.

It may not be something of value, but unique to me.

Mine is a 1972 Pan Am boeing 747 safety card. It has a very special meaning for me.

While the seats are my favorite, I do have a few DL L-1011 safety cards that have sentimental value, too.

I have a whole bunch of airline memorabilia ranging from Napkins to Special Promotional Items. Although I cannot list my personal favorite, I know I have one in my collection somewhere. As soon as I get them, my favorite will be my Valujet/AirTran DC9 seats

I have a fairly large and varied collection of stuff, but a few of my favs:

1) 1987 DL DC-10 safety card
2) Late 1970's Giant Delta Route Map and Information
3) Two prints (EA 752 and WN 722 printed and signed by the artist)

I have a late 1970s DL route map too, with an L-1011 on the cover & giving some facts about the plane. Talked about air conditioning systems, found on DC-8s, -9s, 727s & L-1011s. It's pretty cool.

Anybody know where my seats came from? Blue with three gold diagonal lines, blue leather armrest tops, tray tables with text in English & Spanish.

If it's your favourite Joe, why are you selling it? Or is it that this was a blatant advert?

I was supposed to be on that last Delta L-1011 flight... we were later told by a reservations agent they were retired on 7/17/01 & switched to US Airways, only to find one sitting at the gate when we got to MCO on 7/24. That certificate would've blown the seats away in terms of being my favorite airline "trinket".

Mine might be my Air France Concorde safety card. Got a great deal on it...2 Finnair cards which I had multiples of for this beauty. I also have a few rare Greenlandair cards.

Somewhere around, I have an "American Way" magazine with the 747SP and MD-11 DC-10 and 727 in it at one time. Those were the best days of aviation

My rarest is a Air Koryo IL-62 safety card, my favorite is a UTA "Distance" in-flight magazine clebrating the delivery of the 747-4B3 F-GEXA (2nd in Europe at the time), other than that, I have the detailed list of all the equipment on board AF's 777-228 (I will put the full details soon) and the only thing I still don't have is the megaphone and the escape rope in the cockpit  Smile/happy/getting dizzy
F/A's are lucky when there is still a safety card on board when I leave the a/c...
