FS2004 Pay- Or Freeware Add-on Aircraft

Wed Aug 20, 2003 11:01 pm

Hi,

As many of you guys over here, I've been flying in FS2004 for a couple of weeks now. It's really great, but the time has come now to get some 'state-of-the-art' add-on aircraft, that are 100% compatible with FS2004. I'd prefer freeware of course, but since FS98 got kind of obsolete, it seem that more and more good add-on designers have moved to the professional companies that design payware... I can live with that, as long as the result is perfect.

I'm not looking for aircraft models only, but for full packages, i.e. aircraft model with dynamic VC, 2D panels, FMC etc.

I've already seen some great (FS2002) payware add-ons, such as the LAGO F-16 and Tornado, B727,... Are they compatible with FS2004?

The only fully FS2004 compatible payware aircraft I've seen so far is the PMDG Boeing 737-600/700. It looks great, but (this is for guys who already own the product) is it worth the bucks, and will it affect my framerate terribly?

Suggestions are more than welcome of course,
Ivan

The Lago F-16 upgrade to FS2004 is currently in beta.
CS 727 upgrade is planned and might be under development.
PSS Airbus and Dash8 upgrades are announced but no timeline set yet.
Flight1 DC-9 works except for a small problem with the night textures on one gauge (this being worked on).
Flight1 Cessna 421 works sorta, full upgrade in the works.
Lago Tornado upgrade is under development.

Dreamfleet Cessna 310 works out of the box
Flight1 Cessna 152 works out of the box
Lago Roaring 30s (Beech Staggerwing and Gullwing) works out of the box.
VMax Flight Systems/Ralph's Panel Shop Boeing 747-200B Ready For Pushback (yah, long name  Smile/happy/getting dizzy) works, needs just to change the panel to use the new FS2004 GPS. Upgrade for that will be released any day now.

PSS A330 and A340 will work out of the box when released in a week or so.

no problem.
I own most of these addons (except the 727, Roaring 30, F-18 and Tornado)  Smile

Remember that FS2004 has been out for only a few short weeks, and upgrading stuff takes time.

BREAKING NEWS: RFP 747 upgrade is now available

Thanks for the news... Oh yeah, a FS2004 compatible version of FSNavigator is almost finished as well. Too bad some functions will be gone partially  Sad

Anyway, think I'm gonna go for the PMDG 737 right now. Can't wait to see more stunning and exceptional FS aircraft models (payware probably).

The CS 727 is now FS2004 compatible. I just bought it and I really like it. With out a doubt it is the best visual representation of the 727 - inside and out.

Just bought the PMDG 737. Framerates are not as with default FS aircraft, but still quite good (well, unless I use the VC and have nothing but 3D cumulus which I'm flying through, framerates are really low then). Now I'm taking some time learning all the aircraft's systems, procedures, etc etc...

By the way, their online documentation is not up to date: no need to register when you've installed the SU1 pack, it registers itself apparantly...
