What Do You Think Of Microsoft Flight Simulator?

Thu Aug 28, 2003 9:39 am

I think of it as a recreational game. Not to be taken seriously. But, it is pretty realistic. What do you think of it? Good? Bad?

I have FS 2002 and i think it's pretty good. Before that i had FS 2000 and that was good too. They improve things with every new edition. I think it's useful as an IFR training platform. All the NAV instruments are real and work properly. I sometimes practise ADF tracking, ILS approaches, VOR approaches etc and it is quite realistic from that point of view. It's more than a game, i think it sits somewhere in between a recreational game and a real simulator.

Gotta agree with Positive rate. MS2004 has some definite training value. There are a lot of things you can practice with it (espcially now that you can fly the full approach procedure.) But, at the same time, it's just fun, and that's all.
