FS2k2 ILS Problems

I've consistantly been having problems with ILS approaches in FS2k2 (in all aircraft). It flies the approach but lines me up parallel to the runway, about 200 feet or so away from the centerline. Has anyone else had this?

I've never heard of that. Double check your freq. just to make sure. Other than that, im not sure what the problem is. Does this happen on all ILS runways, or just one?

It happens on all of them. Perhaps I am coming in too fast and need to slow it down faster (to give it more time to line up). I'll try that on my next flight.

Do you have installed scenery or new airports or anything? That might be the problem also....especially if no AFCAD update.

Well I tried slowing it down and it lined up just right.

I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it, but I also put the ILS frequency into the NAV2 radio in addition to the NAV1. Should this be necessary?

The problem that I have with the ILS is that it captures and I start descending, but I keep descending at the orginal rate of descent. I have to disconnect the AP and manually fly it, which is fine, but if I want it to work it should work.

are you using apporach plates or the runway heading from flight sim?

Some of the runways in 2k2 haven't been updated for magnetic variation.
for instance, our approach plates into Piarco POS runway 10 is 104degrees, while flight sim still uses 102degrees.
If I relied on my real approach plate, I'd definitely end up parallel.

Well after trying it myself as well, it happens to me as well. At SIN, in my 777 they vectored me into 2L I think it was. I had my APR switch on and everything, but the way they vectored me, my 777 had to turn like a fighter to get lined up. I had to TOGA and the vectored me around again...this time almost straight in. The AP got hold and it tried to line me up with the taxi way.

So I tried it at HAN also in my 737BBJ. Same problem....Not sure whats up with that, if anyone has a clue please let me know.

When I fly BHX to MAN (06L approach) using IFR on FS2004, I am vectored past MAN and out over Liverpool. By the time I get the final vectors I am already past the ILS. Overall MSFS does a pretty good job, but not 100%.

I did not use IFR in FS2002 much as the ILS turns are very tight, especially for large aircraft. The slower you go, the less chance of overshoot. I try to be doing about 170-180kts on the ILS turn.
