Sat Jan 24, 2004 2:55 am

Hi,, up till 2 days ago i was running FS2004 on my laptop (P4 2.4 Ghz, 1048 MB Ram, 60 gb hd, 64 mb ATI AGP 346) until suddenly framerates decreased dramatically. I tried rolling back the video card driver and just recently tryed to install new GART software. Anyone have some possible causes and/or solutions? thanks

defragmenting your drive might help a little. Also try deleting FS9.cfg, then resetting everything in FS.

Try updating your Audio drivers, and make sure you have the latest Chipset drivers too, you should be able to get both from the manufacturer of the laptop.

Here is where you will find your config file, of course you will have to substitute "Bill" for your user name. The following is the path to mine.

C:Documents and SettingsBillApplication DataMicrosoftFS9

and this assumes you let the app install in the suggested folders....

Once deleted, just start FS9... It will create another config file on start up, restoring all original settings... A problem if you have "tweaked" your config settings!

Where'd the back slashes go?

C: Documents and Settings Bill Application Data Microsoft FS9

See above msge... put spaces where there shud be slashes... Don't know why that happened???????

Hope you get my meaning.
