LCDs And FS2004

Wed Feb 18, 2004 2:00 pm

i know this question of LCDs and their compatibility with gaming, has been asked since time immemorial.

but i am curious, in the specific context of FS2004, where you have rapidly moving aircraft , and rapidly changing scenery as your jet whizzes past it, what response time is the bare minimum ?

LCDs just look so gorgeous that it's difficult to pass them up.

In general TFTs are too slow for animation work that's faster than a flash applet on a website.
Those things are designed pretty much for static work...

I suppose it depends what screen you have.

I've got a couple of LG Flatron L1710B's on my main development machine and I can run FS2004 (at lunchtime of course  Smile/happy/getting dizzy )and it isn't all that uncomfortable, but you can definitely notice the difference from a CRT monitor.

Agreed. As space is a premium in the dorms I use a 17" flat panel....but seems to work fine. Just doesn't refresh quite as nice.
I got my head checked--by a jumbo jet
