Is there a way you can get the FS ATC to tell you something like United 101 turn left heading 290 descend and maintain ten thousand cleared to the ILS runway 29L ? << just an example....or is there an upgrade for this?

It should do something like that if you are in an IFR flight. You select IFR on the flight planner page.

If you are on FS2002 or later, it should tell you all sorts of neat things.

Here is the transcript of my arrival into Nalples.

SPEED BIRD 131, Turn left heading 330

SPEED BIRD 131, Descend and maintain 5,300

SPEED BIRD 131, you are 27 miles east. Turn left heading 270, Descend and maintain 3,900 Cleared ILS runway 24 approach. Maintain 3,900 until established on the localizer. Contact Naples Tower on 118.5.

SPEED BIRD 131, Naples Tower. Make straight in, runway 24. Altimeter 2992.

If you are using FS2004. ATC will give you a step climb to your cruising altitude too.

Regards,
Craig.

"If you are using FS2004. ATC will give you a step climb to your cruising altitude too."

That was annoying in 2002. Ok... I go from wheels up over to departure and straight to 37,000. *sigh*
