FS 2004 Callsign

Wed Mar 10, 2004 6:44 am

Is there a way to get new airline callsigns other than the ones already there or that come with other aircraft?

Yes there is: at http://www.avsim.com you can download "EditVoicepack 3.0", which has quite a number of callsigns, otherwise you can add others to the program. You need to install the Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1 in order to get it to work (see the manual).

Does anyone know the reason why they left out Southwest?!

YEA NO KIDDIN i dream of hearing southwest in ATC, very sad...

Check this website if you want all the atc codes for airline callsigns...
http://www.homepages.mcb.net/bones/04FS/data/fsdata.htm

Next, just go to the aircraft folder of the plane you want to change, (FS9/aircraft/b737_400/aircraft.cfg) and go to the aircraft.cfg document; open it with WORDPAD(right click, open with-> wordpad)!! Once you're there you will see where it says "atc_airline= " under the [flightsim.0] menu;now this is where you type in the airline callsign from the above website. Notice if you scroll down there are many other "atc_airlines= ",so you can change more names!!
i.e. type in "atc_airline=frontier flight" and atc will say"frontier flight 1123, cleared for takeoff". its gets ever more advanced and technical from here!!
ENJOY!
cheers,

The best I can get is Skywest (sounding like Southwest). Someone out there has to know how to add a callsign in the atc program (even if its your own recorded voice). Any takers to THIS challenge or just wait til FS2006?

If you follow KLM777's suggestion, you can get Southwest and just about
every known airline. And using Editvoicepack is a breeze (once you
have the .net framework.

o yes i see, the topic needs to be more specific: how can you get NEW atc (new voices) callsigns in addition to all of the ones already offered in FS9? sounds like he's asking how to hear other than standard callsigns, which you can use as long as they're already recorded; i thought that was too easy! well if it was meant either way we are all happy now!  Smile
Thanks for the kind suggestion!

Hold UP!!!

I have had "Southwest" from the beginning, even before I got the Editvoicepak.

I just opened up the airlines.cfg file and added southwest, simple.

Wilax, I did that, and kept on trying. But somehow, it still didn't work until I got Editvoicepak!
