Hmmmm, Last time I checked sealing and/or buying stolen property got you a nice comfy stay in your local jail. You sure are lucky the airlines make it a practice not to take legal action against their passengers.

Yeah yeah yeah -- i've heard this story a million times before.

How do you know it is stolen property?

I am currently in the process of getting a big box of stuff from one of the Russian airlines -- and they have given them to me for nothing -- and they have explicitly said they would like me to sell the stuff -- if I use some of the funds to go visit them in the future.

Ahem...

The Russian's giving something away for free that they could charge for, hard to believe! If a flight attendant tells you that you can take he card ask her if she is authorized to make that decision, odds are not. Either way you take the card off the plane you are stealing it.

If the F/A says it's ok then it's ok to take it, the responsibility is on he/she now for allowing you to take it, even if you do take it they have so many extra ones in the storage area that they just replace them, JAIL for taking a card,LOL!!!! you are kidding right?, the judge would laugh at the whole thing and throw it out and you would get off with no punishment. It would cost the airline more to take you to court then to replace the card. I guess then if you take the inflight magazine you are also stealing huh?? There is no proof that any of a collectors cards are stolen, lots of airlines give them out if you write them or just ask one of the crew members for them.

Hey if you want to continue to steal form the airlines thus contributing to driving up your own ticket cost for a very childish fetish then feel free. You see most us adults gave up the sign, card and placard stealing a few years after high school but I see that for some, it still remains a very predominate focus in their lives. You are right, who am I to say you are wrong and who am I to try to reason with an adult that is still operating on a teenage level.

hey, it's true that airlines send stuff to you. Last month I recieved a package from Southern Winds with the safety cards of all their fleet (767, 737, CRJ, Dash 8). i didn't have to pay a cent.

Well believe it my boy. Believe it! I don't think you have any idea who you are trying to mock here  Laugh out loud

As to why I collect them

1) It allows me to have an aviation-themed collection
2) I am interested in aviation safety
3) It is preserving a part of history -- particularly in terms of Russian aircraft and airlines which often aren't in operation for long.
4) It is an investment also -- I have calculated that when I do (if I do) ever give the collection up, I am sitting on at least $30,000 -- that is at today's 'values' -- in 20-30 years time, that is gonna be one nice nest egg.

One safety card: 1/8 of a cent
One law suit to get back that one safety card: $1,000+
Point taken?  Innocent

I am promoting my hobby (hence sending the link to the Aviation Hobby forum) and, for your information, it was all given to me (and a lot of it the airline encourages you to take - magazines, menus, even etc.). All given to me. All.

Sorry, pal, but it is a battle that you cannot ever win.  Insane

P.S. Warning! Only for those not offended by a hobby and having fun, I'll be listing some more stuff soon.  Big grin Feel free to e-mail me to ask about what I have.
