Model Aircraft/Model Airport Advice

Mon May 03, 2004 8:54 pm

Hi everyone,

I'm actually planning myself over this summer to make a model airport. I'm planning to do London Heathrow (best to start off with a challenge!!  Big grin ) and I was wondering, what sort of scale aircraft do you recommend (1/100, 1/200, 1/400 etc...)? The airport will probably take up the majority of my garage (average garage size!). What do you suggest?

Thanks,
Mike

1:400-1:500 would be the best to do, a 1:100 would be way too big and it may not fit in your garage!
1:200, same as the 1:100, both of those scales, there arent really any GSE available.

1:400 and 1:500, there are plenty of GSE available, also, they make terminals and hangers and towers and jetways for them.

(GSE=Ground service equipment, air stairs, tugs, buses)

Cool thanks, could anyone suggest a good website to be looking on to buy some of these? I do want aircraft from all around the world, but probably best to start off in the UK first  Smile
