Best A340-xxx Freeware Model

Fri May 07, 2004 1:10 pm

Simubuild a340s are good but no model out there does it for me because the wing textures are terrible. Can anyone top the simubuild a340 freeware models? Name your a340 favorite for FS2004.

Aerodesigns made a terrific freeware A340-300 model. It included a Virtual Cockpit and Virtaul cabin. Great flight dynamics and the best A340 out there, freeware or payware. You can get it at Avsim.

Project Opensky is coming out with an A340 sometime soon, but I'm not sure exactly when. The previews look really great!

Hey Q330 thanks for the heads up I'm excited now, and how about QF and some a345s in real life, put QF in Texas(DFW) and connect the two outbacks! You know, those wingviews in a project opensky a340 are what I'm really waiting for, opensky has the dynamics and the textures. They might as well make a 737 (to cover the NGs) and maybe an MD: 80 or 11?
Thanks for the help all.

POSKY doesn't need to do the 737 - FFX/SGA has already done the 733/4/5 and Erick Cantu, formerly of FFX/SGA has now gone off and done the 73G w/new team Kittyhawk designs. The new 737-700 and 738 from them are great.

QR332, true this, and especially of their 767s! IFDG 767 but not so with their new a321 although all their a32xs have amazing textures.

Aaron747, Eric and ffx have done some great work as well, and finally kittyhawk came out with the flexing wings for a 737, I've enjoyed these since the first day they came out, its just not the same... But an POSKY quality 737 wing is just a glimmer of hope I have; Kittyhawk will work great til then. Although the latest gmax textures are hard to beat. FFX really can really improve their wing textures.

777 opensky? You mean the old FS2000 one? When did meljet fall behind?

Yes some textures I downloaded were listed as Opensky in the aircraft.cfg, but the meljets wing textures are really old and have fallen behind the standards of other models (as far as the wing goes). So yes Meljet would be the model.
