It is possible to download the full thing (it is some 28MB Zipped), since it is not avaliable for purchase anymore................. Not saying you should go and get it or that I have it.

It was a great little game for passing time, I wish I could dig it out and that it worked on XP.

Ahh, SimCopter!

I almost beat the whole game a while ago (I think I stopped after level 9 out of 10). It was a fun game but not even remotely realistic in terms of actual flight dynamics.

Gotta love those cheats as well, ahah.

Hehe, flying around in the Apache and blowing things up was good fun.  Big thumbs up

Sim Copter is an old Maxis (Now EA Maxis) game which followed on in the tradition of Sim ..... games. You were a helicopter pilot in 'Sim City' and you flew your little chopper around the city earning money by doing deeds (Transporting passengers, Medevacs, Fighting Fires, Stopping Criminals etc...) Money which you could use to spend on Fuel and Repairs, new equipment for your chopper or even a new chopper.

It was compatible with Sim City and Sim City 2000 so it was possible to fly around a city which you had built yourself.

The graphics suck now but they were excellent back 'then' as it was as 3D as FS9 is now, things like cars were not textured but were simply coloured and buildings usually were textured but had one simple texture per type. There were people (Who looked very poor) and also the animals were a laugh in themselves graphics wise.

Although it is a very outdated game it is still a good way of passing a few hours when you know FS won't do.

Also: The Demo version (Which is crackable by the way - I haven't) has Ride of the Valkeries as the soundtrack, it's amazing for how many hours you can listen to the midi of that and not get fed up of it - maybe it's me and my classical music though...

Try using compatability mode - I use it on Sim Life (Just choose win 95)

Right click on the application and select compatability "Windows 95" then click apply.

Then run as normal.

Oh goody, the SimCopter! I used to love that game. Cool missions, and if you had enough, you could trigger the nuclear disaster cheat. Big grin

When I download it says along the lines of incompatible with system. However if I download it ontop desktop the .exe file doesn't run- even if set to compatibility mode.

I used to play this game a lot, please help if anyone knows how!

Thanks!
