Autopilot Pitching Up In Fs9

Fri Jun 18, 2004 6:50 am

Hello everyone!

It's either I'm doing something wrong or somebody could explain a way out of my situation. As soon as I disconnect the autopilot, the airplane is immediately pitching up. How can I avoid it? For example, as soon as I'm ready for a touch down, I turn the autopilot off to land the airplane and it's pitching up rapidly causing a crash. Why is that? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Leo.

" As soon as I disconnect the autopilot, the airplane is immediately pitching up."

the autopilot uses trim for pitch control. in various high alpha situations for example when slow with flaps out and gear down, you will have a massive pitch trim by the auto pilot, usually visible on the panel and, on modern models, from the outside. try correcting the trim in pause. it will not occur then
