Something Annoying With My FS2002

Sun Jun 20, 2004 10:09 pm

Sorry as i aint up to date with FS2004 but I don't think it would run well on my comp. But when i start up FS, it automatically goes to the cessna and Chicago instead of the main page with the flight planning etc. This is a recent development and was wondering if anyone could help solve the problem.

Well I can usually figure these problems out, but I've never heard of that problem before Sad

Give me a day or so and I'll look into it Smile

Go to the 'Select a Flight' page and check the box bottom centre - saying 'Make Default Flight', or similar. If there is a cross in it, remove it. The game should then re-start from whichever page you exited from - 'Select a Flight' is probably the best option.

Cheers NAV, I'll try that later but it sounds as if that is the problem.

Hope it helps, anyway - it used to annoy me, Chicago is NOT my favourite US city.

On reflection it took me a while to get rid of it. Checking, I THINK you have to go to 'other' flights (right at the bottom of the 'Select Flights' list), click on 'Meigs etc.', and THEN take the cross out of 'Make default flight'.

Did me a favour anyway - started up FS2002 and did a couple of 'scenic' landings from my earlier adventures (one, into Honolulu in perfect weather in a Piper Navajo, is probably my all-time favourite).

I wouldn't be without FS2004, given the better ATC and GPS and especially the older aeroplanes and the 'historical' flights. But one thing I miss is that the clouds, visibility, and terrain textures are pretty well completely realistic - which means that, as in the real thing, you don't see much of the ground if you are at any kind of height. On FS2002 you see everything.........

Lol, this wasn't the problem. Looks like I'll just have to learn to live with it until I get a new comp and a new version of FS. Out of interest, when's the next one? 2006?

I had that before, it's a just a phase (If I may say that). It happened to me for a couple of weeks then went back to normal again (don't know why). So in the mean time, just exit and create a new flight.

Finally cracked it (I think).

Remove the cross from 'Make default', but ALSO got to 'Settings', 'General', and make sure the 'Show opening screen' box is ticked. Then exit from the 'Select a Flight' screen and you should get that straight away when you start up again.
