FS2004: I Can't Control All Engines

Sat Jun 26, 2004 10:37 am

Lately FS2004 has not allowed me to control 2 or more engines occasionally; no matter what I do I can only control the #1 engine from the keyboard. If I open up the throttle panel I can use the mouse to advance all engines but that's annoying. Anybody else have this problem? Any solutions?

Try pressing E then 1,2,3,4. E is the engine select and 1,2,3,4 is the engine number you are selecting. If you hit E then 1,2,3,4 all at once it should reselect all the enges. Only needs to be done 1 and 2 if there are only 2 engines on the plane. Hope that makes sense.

Two rules in aviation, don't hit anything and don't run out of gas, cause if you run out of gas yer gonna hit something.

I've tried that and it results in the same thing; only engine #1 is controllable.

You have to do it quickly. When I start my engines on a 2+ engine airplane, I can only control #1. But when I press "E, 1+2..." I can control all engines.

I use E 1+2 etc but sometimes it doesn't work and only 1 engine can be controlled so I just go to select aircraft and press enter to you go into the same aircraft that you left but controlling both engines.

That happens to me on FS2002, I have to change to a different aircraft and then straight back to my original Smile

That always works for me.

It's because of autostart. When you press ctrl-e then it only selects the first engine. What might fix it is going into the assignments screen and changing the select engine to a key that won't get in the way.

My key sequence is: (4 engines) E+1+2, then within 1 sec, E+3+4 and it works everytime. Make sure that E,1,2 are held down together, then, release the 1+2 buttons while holding the E button, then hit 3 & 4 at the same time. Remember, hold E the whole time.

Quick way to start 747 if all are off, click all 4 starter buttons on the upper panel then manually open the fuel valves(below the throttles) when they hit their proper Nspeed. CTRL+E takes way too long sometimes and manual control feels more real.

I just press ctrl+e, repeatedly pressing it untill I hear all engines going. Works every time Big thumbs up
