The last I have heard was that Schuco announced earlier this year at the Nuremberg Toy Fair that they have stopped cooperation with StarJets and their will be no more new releases in the 1:200 line. Nearly broke my heart when I heard that news, as SJ
's 1:200 line seemed like a promising new line, especially with their wonderful 757 mould.
I am not sure about the few scattered new releases using the SJ
moulds that have come out since then, like the Northwest and ANA Airbuses, and the Air 2000 and USAF
757s that you mentioned. These along with an America West A320 and 1 or 2 others have been released after the 1:200 line apparently closed. I believe some of these may have been released using the SJ
moulds but by an independant company, not necessarily StarJets.
It's now been about a year since the last batch of real new releases from the SJ
200 line. One of the last releases, the Continental 757, is one of my favorite. I'm glad they got that one out before things turned weird with them. I remember seeing pictures of SJ
Eastern and Delta 757s about a year ago that were supposedly "coming soon". It's a shame we never saw that DL
I wish I had more answers, but I don't. If I read anything else about SJ
I'll be sure to let you know. I really hope they get their problems or whatever worked out with Schuco, or maybe someone else can take over their 1:200 line.
P.S. How is the NW
new colors A320? Does the silver look like the silver on the real NW
planes? I really want the NW
bowling shoe scheme but that one is sold out everywhere I look.
