Any Good VFR Scenery For FS2004?

Sat Jul 10, 2004 8:34 am

I'm looking for some good freeware VFR scenery (on flightsim.com) with the typical VFR landmarks such as roads and bridges. I've heard a lot about designers using realistic imagery for such scenery. Something like the KOSH default scenery in fs2004 is what I'm looking for.

try seaching on avsim. It seems like a better selection here. But KOSH only has an AFCAD file with some touch and go traffic. yea yea its not flightsim. No other luck with nice VFR Oshkosh scenary.

My original post is misleading, I meant I was looking for scenery that has a level of detail comparable to KOSH or TNCM in fs2004. It doesn't matter where in the world, as long as it has that quality equivelant to the detailed scenery areas of fs2004 Sorry about that  Smile .

No it's not misleading I'm the one to blame, I didn't read your original carefully! Insane

I have had a lot of luck with avsim on airport scenery...a good way to search if you're not sure what airport you want is to type in scenery and then choose fs2004 scenery from the pulldown menu, it will bring up almost every scenery file in their database. Well I'm sure you've already done this stuff, otherwise you wouldn't have posted!! The level of detail is near KOSH and TNCM on some bigger airport scenery files i've downloaded, such as boston_logan_1.1.zip for Logan Int'l or dia2004.zip for denver in the US, there are plenty of good ones out there for other airports around the world.

Hi- If you are willing to pay, USA Roads by Flight1 is amazing - every road in the United States! It even has my little neighborhood road. Well worth the $30 price in my opinion. Makes VFR very realistic, also IFR is much better with this package - I Follow Roads! The Megascenery series is also quite good, also payware and a bit steep. Regards, STBP

Soontobepilot:

That was some nice scenery! I went to Flight1's website and looked at the screenshots and they look great. I didn't know it was possible to get practically every road in the US in there. Do you think you could send me some screenshots of some areas I know well to see just how great the detail is?

I'm looking for I-75, the three exits to Gainesville, FL
Florida Turnpike
Orlando with I-4 and the Beeline expressway just off the threshold of KMCO.

I like Florida flying and it's a place I know well as far as roads is concerned. I used to live in FL, I wonder if my street is in there too?

Regards
