I use the PSS MFDU on the A32X series which has 101 options, but is required for autolands. Also helps with navigation.

I always use the FMC, because realism is very important to me.

Same here. I won't fly one without it (unless I'm in a GA mood). PSS Airbii and PMDG 737 are great.

I have had trouble with them as well.

I use the trusty old FSNav. Works just as well for me.

I use FMCs/MCDUs all the time simply for the realism. Don't forget you can save at the least the routings so they can be recovered if your PC crashes. FSNav is alright but nothing like the real world.

I use the PMDG FMS, a damn fine one too. When I make my Flight Deck I'll be installing a proper FMS which will set me back about $450 US$.

I don't use one when I am on other aircraft because I don't have the PSS A32X or any for 74/5/6/7s

Phil-What is your flight deck going to be like? How do you use and operate the FMC in the default 744?

I don't use an FMC on aircraft which don't have one, it makes flights a real pain in the butt though.

My flightdeck is going to be sweet. When I start it it will be just the captains side and the throttles + overhead (an Airbus A32X - since I could use any A318/9/20/21/30 with it), then when I move out I'll add the first officers side, I'll buy a working FMS for the captains side but not one for the F/O as I can't see the need in it yet. Then I'll add a proper frame to make the flight deck complete with F/D door and library. Hopefully I'll be able to go ahead with my extra plans which I keep under wraps  Big grin but it should be so damn cool and I could become an instructor too.

Wow, Phil, that sounds awesome! I'm coming over to your place!

I just got my FMC working on Eric Marciano's A320/330 panel, so from now on I'll almost always be using it.
