US Airways Express AI Traffic

Mon Aug 30, 2004 4:13 am

I was hoping someone would have a good package for US Airways Express AI, meant for FS2004. I can't seem to find one, and before I delete the default AI, I wanted to have some regional jets flying around. Thanks.

Step 1)
Go to http://www.mostrealisticai.com and download their install wizard and the Summer 04 US Airways express flightplans.

Step 2)
Go to AVSIM and find the necessary repaints, here's some hitns as to what to search for:
Beechcraft 1900 - by Charles Dayhuff
Embraer RJ145 - by Charles Dayhuff
Saab 340 - by Project AI
Embraer 170 - by AI Aardvark, find them at http://www.ai-aardvark
De Havilland Dash 8-100 - by Project AI, find them at http://www.projectai.com
De Havilland Dash 8-300 - by Project AI
CRJ-200 - by Charles Dayhuff
CRJ-700 - by Charles Dayhuff
Dornier 328-100 - by Project AI
BAe Jetstream 41 - by Project AI

Step 3)
Install the necessary basepacks and then the repaints, you need to have at least one repaint installed for a model before the MRAI Installer can recognize it (and subsequently install future repaints).

Step 4)
Start the MRAI Installer and load the zip file - the rest should be self explanatory.

Thank you for taking the time to type all of that out for me. I will get cracking on it tomorrow. Right now though, it seems that I can't delete the default commercial AI traffic for FS2004 even after I used the Project AI remover twice now. Anyone have any suggestions?

The package from PAI doesn't work to get rid of the default traffic. There are two ways to do it manually. The first is to just delete all the default aircraft which is pretty easy but then you're obviously not able to use them at all anymore. The second way is as follows:

-Go to Flight Simulator 9/Scenery/World/Scenery
-Find the file called "traffic030528.bgl"
-Change the file extension so it looks something like "traffic030528.lgb"

Then, if you want to, you can add back the general aviation traffic using the "FS2004 Default General Aviation Traffic Installer" found on the PAI website.

Actually, it does! I used it, and now I'm default free (Almost)! You have to go to custom installation, then change the file it installs into to the default traffic file instead of PAI. Then run it.
I convert Jet A and 100LL into noise.

Yeah, by far the fastest method - then you can also delete some of the default aircraft.
