Good 774/773 Panels

Wed Nov 03, 2004 3:43 pm

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone knows where i can get good panels for the default 744 and 773 in FS2004, I have a really good 737 one (features autoland, taxi speed, visable throttle, etc) .I am yet to find the same for the other two default aircraft.

any ideas or links would be greatly appreciated,

cheers!

For freeware, "extended" versions of both default panels are available on FlightSim.com certainly although I doubt they have autoland. The best panels are of course payware. At the moment PSS have a 744 and a 777 out but they were designed some time ago, I hear the 744 just about works with FS9, the 777 doesn't.

But of course, the most highly anticipated is the PMDG 747-400 "Queen of the Skies" which will no doubt have an outstanding panel complete with all systems, FMCs etc. I think it may have IRS, and there was talk of ACARS.

Thanks mate... i'll keep an eye out for it.

Just one thing... will I need a super fast computer to enjoy 'queen of the skys' fully? I have a pentium IV 1.7Ghz 512RAM and 64meg video at the moment and it handles most FS2004 stuff pretty well.

TBA04,

If your looking for a good freeware 777 panel - I'd recommend the following:

http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=&Name=&FileName=&Author=Jorge+%27eko%27+Salas&CatID=fs2004pan

Regarding the PMDG 747 - check it out here:http://www.precisionmanuals.com/html/products.htm

They really are top notch products from PMDG - I have the 737NG and 800/900 upgrade - highly recommended if you are into a more 'realistic' flight. For example, the 737 flies within a 5% tolerance of the data issued by Boeing - not bad hey!
And their 747 is probably the most highly anticipated add-on for the next year or so. (Closely followed by their MD-11 which will be released in '05)

As for your computer - it should be okay. I had a AMD 1.3GHz with 512MB RAM and a 64MB GeForce 4 which ran the 737 reasonably well. Be aware that if you have add-on scenery, tons of AI or your sliders set high - your FPS will suffer. My computer sadly died last night (not as a result of FS I hope!), so I'm in the market for a new one.

A shiny 64bit P4 3.2GHz should get the ball rolling I think... :P

Cheers,

Soulman.

Yes, the panel can. Infact, you can use any panel with any aircraft provided you put the right things in the panel folder.

I'd agree, your computer should be fine. If it goes too slow, just turn down the other settings for eye candy like scenery complexity. The 744 should be top notch, knowing PMDG's previous work.
