Has anyone been to the American Airlines C.R. Smith museum at DFW? I have heard that it has some really cool aviation trinkets!

I've been there quite a few times. I used to live in Dallas.

When you first go into the museum, you're escorted into a theater to watch a 5-10 minute film. The theater is furnished with 1st class aircraft seats and an Omnimax-like screen.

They have lots of historical items, engine cross-sections, and interactive things for kids.

They added a perfectly preserved DC-3 a few years ago.

The gift shop has a lot of shirts, books, models, and other logo items.

If you're in the area, don't miss it.

I went there all the time during my schooling over the summer. Concord 1977 pretty much hit in on the ball regarding what they have there. I have to say that my favorite part was the the DC-3 (on occasion the museum volunteers will open the cabin up to visitors),as well as the large models of their fleet they have suspended on the ceiling as you walk in.  Smile
