Problem With FS9 - Searching For Airports

Sun Jan 16, 2005 8:50 pm

When I search for some major airports in the USA, like KBWI, KMIA and KJFK, I don't get any result - not even when I type in the city, the airport code, or scroll down the list when in the 'airports in XYZ' state. How can I find them?

Make sure that you have the USA selected in the "country" field.

Like DLKAPA said, make sure that the region is right. You won't find anything in the USA if your region is in Canada....  Big grin Make sure the region or Country is 'USA' or 'Any'

Of course that region is fine. I downloaded FS9 onto my girlfriend's laptop and all the expected airports are there - but not on mine at home. So I will uninstall it and reinstall it.

Pe@rson,
No idea about the problem, but I have just thought of something that you can use FS2K4 to help with some of the queries you have about alternative airports.

In FS2K4, look at the map of the area around a certain major airport (e.g Munich) and look for airfields that have fairly decent runway length (for FR 737s  Big grin ) and then enquire about those airports on the civil aviation forum  Big grin
