Pushback On FS9

Sat Jan 29, 2005 1:09 pm

I know to pushback on FS9 you use shift+P, but is there a way to turn the aircraft while it is being pushed back?

You need to depress SHIFT+P + 1 or 2 (Left or right)
Now you're really flying

Unfortunately, that usually ends up bringing the panel up. What you need to do is to reassign the pushback to a single key (like K) - then it should work  Smile

It took me sometime to figure out why the aircraft wouldn't turn on pushback.

Try this method. Right after pressing Shift + P, just when the aircraft has started moving, press on your keyboard's number pad the "1" button for left or "2" for right.

Now when the aircraft is pushed back far enough from the gate, it should automatically start turning by itself.

Unfortunately pushing back to the left/right fails to work with aircraft like PSS Airbuses/PMDG 737NG. However there are some good freeware pushback gauges available, or alternatively you could use the slew provided your joystick has a rudder twist.

Actually, I got the PSS Airbuses to turn, but I never know when it will happen. Sometimes I press either 1 or 2 and nothing will happen, other times it will. But I've got pushback assigned to P so perhaps some of the above posts will help about reassigning it to another key.

BTW, and I'm sure it's been asked, but I couldn't find it in the search, does anyone know how to put in jetways, tugs, etc. into FS9?
I downloaded from avsim AIRBUS TWINS but I couldn't get it to work, and I'm not sure if that will work only with AI AC that are not my own. I'm wondering how to add pushback tugs to my AC.

Cheers!
