Odd FS Item Near Venezuela-Guyana Boarder

Sun Feb 06, 2005 12:03 pm

Sorry if this has been posted before, now where have I heard that before??, but I was flying around the Venezuela-Guyana boarder area (sorry but I was so transfixed by this I forgot to get an exact location.

I was at about 30,000 ft and I could circle the object and there appeared to be a set of smaller "mountains" around the base of it. I am going to try to fly in a seaplane as there is water at the base as well.

If this has been discussed before please let me know and I will do my duty and send my thread to the big thread deletion pond in the sky and i thank you all in advance either way

Ah, so you found the great hole in the ground. Seriously, go to the Guyana airport in a Bravo or something and make a hard right right after t/o. There is a large hole at the base of that 100,000ft point, the hole goes down, well, infinately. I got to -96,000Ft in a F-35 once.

If you take off from Kamarang you can't miss the 30,000'+ obelisk or the bottomless? pit.

I landed my amphibious Caravan nearby an just floated off the edge of the water and flew down about 15,000' till' I bashed into the walls.

It is too bad the my helicoptr flying skills are so bad or I would try to see how far down this thing does in fact go.

BTW I do not recomend trying to fly an L-1011 down into the hole as the results are consistantly poor.

Oh well I still wonder what this thig is supposed to be, since there are very few 30,000+' obstructions out there.

I am off to buzz Bill Gates house in a Tu-114

Bill Gates' house is in FS2004? BTW, my chopper skills are good, I'll go check this thing out.

I flew from Kamarang on an F-14, and when I saw this thing, I was in shock! It's too fake! So I then looked for the hole, and founding in the mountains. Didn't make it too far without stressing out the plane Big grin

There are plent of these in FS2K2 and Fs9. There is also a rather large hole in the earth (complete with a lake at the bottom with a bridge over it) somewhere near the Texas "panhandle". Because this one is where a lake is supposed to be, you can actually look up from inside and see waves lapping the cliff face from inside  Big thumbs up

I do not know what that thing is but I can tell you that the border between Guyana and Venezuela has been disputed for many years. Effectively, Venezuela claims the Essequibo region of western Guyana, or about 60% of its territory in a dispute that dates as far back as the 19th century. The dispute was apparently settled in 1970 but reopened in 1982 and remains unresolved to this day.

Perhaps that item may be related to the dispute...

There is also a hole in the ground not too far northwest of
Springfield, MO. Also check out the craziest airport in FS9, Rio Amazonas SESM. It's in the bottom of a massive hole... looking forward to finding the Texas hole.

and taking a peek down that hole is one hell of a view

looks more like a black hole. But the giant scenery glitch, like so many other mountains, had to be climbed Big grin
