Out of the several HUNDRED Schabaks I've collected in the past decade, I happen to have a few Tampo-print Schabak 1:600s, and they look MUCH better than the old ones from when Germany was stamped as "Made in WEST Germany" from right after they broke off from Shuco. I wish they would start producing more in the Tampos, but with Herpa Wings now starting to recap on the sorely overlooked 1:600 market, Schabak will HAVE to update the production line or face going out of business, again
they're my favorite maker, not just cause I've been to the Headquarters and spoke with Wolfgang himself, not because when I left there I purchased 327+ US Dollars worth of 1:600s, not cause I have a copy of the old Schabak USA complete with the entire picture archive before they got bought out by Just Plane Fun, but also because of their rather convenient size for full airport mockups!
I'll be sure to give Herpa a try on their 1:600s Hopefully the details will be as accurate & abundant as they are on the 1:200s. I agree about the gear though, that's the only downfall (IMO) to making them so small. The struts needed would be too frail to use anywhere but a display case.
