Finally managed to get our file hosting at Air Arabia working, so I'm in the process of uploading our files there (aircraft, repaints etc). Ps, The AI are done!

Hey everyone,

Firstly, sorry for my long absence.

In the previous thread someone was discussing the irregular behavior of the Boeing 747 and 757 during various phases of flight. As a permanent fix to this I recommend everyone who flies these aircraft to visit...

http://forum.projectopensky.com/index.php?showtopic=3005

...to get the most up to date FDE and manual. Most POSKY aircraft are downloaded with FS2002 FDE and this can cause the problems pilots are mentioning.

Hope this helps, after this fix the aircraft become a joy to fly. Its just a shame not many people know where to find these files, as I only myself stumbled upon them a few months ago.

Cheers,
Ian.

Ian, I updated your 757 textures, and I removed the mip-maps so they look alot better. I also made an updated FDE for the 757, with winglets, invisable winglets for now because nobody outside of Air Canadian Virtual wants to release a model with them.

Dan,

I have almost completed new 747 textures with the proper airline font and sharper look, would you like me to send them to you and you can have a mess around with them in Imagetool/DXTBmp to sort out the mips? All that actually needs to be painted are the engines. This version will also have the most up to date FDE.

Cheers,
Ian.

PS Here is a screenshot of here so far... (sorry for the jpg compression)

Hey Tim,

Would it be possible for you to email the titles used on A.Net aircraft without the blue in the backgroud? At the moment I have this....

...and it is proving to be a little hard to place this over windows/doors etc.

My email is iantobin@ntlworld.com

Cheers,
Ian.

PS Apart from these titles the new 747 is pretty much finished!

No, I only have that. Try making your own - I think the font is Arial, and you can get the colour from the image. Good work on the 744!

Hopefully constructive criticism is welcome.

The logo is difficult to read from a distance due to the muted colors against the dark body color.

Perhaps something brighter for the letters as no one will be able to read it at night, and you want all the free advertising possible.

Looks good, though.

The font is actually called 'eurostile'. 'A.NET' is upper case and bold, and 'airlines' is all lowercase and italic.

The screenie of the 744 looks very good!

Ok, I've sent it. For the colours, just copy the ones from the font as it is now.

BTW, I've just noticed that the tail logo on that 744 is a bit small. It's meant to extend almost to the leading and trailing edges of the vertical tail.

Hiya folks,

I thought I would travel a few hundred miles just to use my computer to say hello and happy easter  Smile

I finished for 2 days this morning so I'l be going back to BRS on tuesday (preferably by air - I hate coaches).

I am now two weeks away from getting my wings, I got my uniform when we stayed in London on tues/wed, I got put up in the LGW hilton overnight and my class are a great bunch of girls (well and the other guy too).

It is great to see that the airline is moving on fairly steady now and as per usual it is SUJ that starts a new thead although I'll cut him some slack as the other thread did breach a fairly substantial number of posts  Wink

Anyway I'll be here till Tuesday so be good  Smile

Timmy - Did you have to list me as retired and not on Long Term Leave? at least I'm still 001 :-/

For the person who asked, the website is at http://www.wallsmead.com/anet/
Anyway, to get to the point:
I think there should be a font change, or an editing of the front titles on all the aircraft. The whole fleet looks fantastic, BUT the front titles seem to let it down a bit. Perhaps a small "A.Net Wing" or whatever you call it, could be added in front of the titles. The size of the "A.NETairlines" could probably look better if it was made bigger. Just my comments...

QantasPilot - Why that wallsmead thingy? Just use www.anetairlines.co.uk , it's much easier to keep that in mind Wink

We now have added the Boeing 717 instead of the Fokker 100, that has never really suited our fleet. This way we are:

1) able to open up new routes
2) able to reduce to "only" four aircraft manufacturers

Further information is available on the website and in the forum..

I spent the money I got on photo sales here to open up a first class account for13 days only. Maybe I get to sale some more pix to get some more days then Wink

That 72 days thingy might be the photograper's account that opened up back then.

ZKSUJ - Some routes in the Hawaiian islands will be added and then the B717s are going to replace the Fokkers as well as three CRJs that will move to Europe.

Thx for adding me.  Wink

Ok, Kas - Info about the schedule changes by me:

- As you stated, some unpopular flights will be skipped. This will lead into less frequencies on the big intra-european routes, as it looks now, no destination will be cut off.

- On the other hand I will add a bunch of new destinations. These shall yet be a surprise for, but anyway, it's not going to be anything that you would have expected.  Wink

- Suggestions for new routes are ALWAYS welcome. This way we could skip some destinations then and offer new, more popular flights.

Hmm maybe I could top your stories, today I was supposed to graduate and get my wings but thanks to a slight screw-up on behalf of our owners (Air Atlanta - Icelandic) our graduation has been put off till Sunday.

I got the train this time, Air Southwest are really good though but I'm getting the train home on Thursday as well.

Nice to see you've made it to these boards now Joel  Smile

Also nice to see that the Fokkers are going in favour of the B717.
