Best Programs To Spend $300 On

Thu Mar 24, 2005 6:03 am

I've been reading posts on this forum for quite some time and have finally decided to join.

The fantastic FS screenshots finally motivated me to upgrade my computer. My question to the group is, if you had a total of $300 to spend on FS software add-ins what programs would you buy and why?

Thanks in advance.

Ok, most of the add ons you see in the screenshots are FREEWARE !!

All can be downloaded for free from http://www.avsim.com or similar websites.

If you still want to spend money on payware, there are many products available, I suggest you read through the following threads:

I would suggest a traffic program, such as ultimate traffic or traffic 2004, FS is nothing without it.

A definite must read:

Hope this helps, if you got any more questions, let us know!

I would also get a good joystick. I have the X-45 http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/x45.htm and it works well for me. They do have a new one out that looks much more impressive but I have not read anything about how they perform. It cost me around $70 I think but well worth the investment. That and $50 for a good headset.
I have no idea what I'm doing...

Buy a good joystick for sure! If you don't have one. Something with rudder and throttle and a hat switch atleast.

Buy a copy of MS C++ 6 and a photo editor to make your own panels. Granted, it'll be a while until you make one if you've never programmed before, but when you make it, the possibilities are endless.
