Free Approach Charts

Sun Jun 05, 2005 4:05 am

I feel that the GPS approaches in FS2004 are crap. Do any of you know where I can get some approach charts free? I don't have the finances to splash out £90 on a simcharts package.

For the US:

www.myairplane.com

Click the NACO Approach Plates link for pdf versions of the real things.

For everything else:

www.navdata.at

Click in the Charts link, and select your desired country. Sometimes they are good, sometimes not, but generally they are of good quality.

I should warn you though, the FS GPS contains approaches very similar to ones you find on the plates. If you want the most realism, use both in conjunction with each other.

I forgot to say in my other post; the charts from ais.org.uk are REAL world charts used in the UK (apart from Jeppessen, but they're not free)

http://www.peruanadeaviacion.com/itinerarios.htm

Scroll down and there are a boatload of charts for Peruvian, most major South American, and a few North American and European airports. The page is in Spanish, though.

Can you subscribe to the service if you don't live in the UK?

Mir- I think you can. I don't see why not, but they would only be of use to you if you were flying into/around the UK
