Of Landing Gear And Key Assignments

Sun Sep 04, 2005 11:59 pm

Three questions; First of all, on the POSKY 747, A330, and A340, the main landing gear always "sink" into the ground before they actually touch down and kick up the smoke. I know this has something to do with contact points, but how exactly do I fix it? I would like my touchdowns to look a little more realistic.

Second, None of my IFDG aircraft puff smoke on touchdown? How do I fix that?

Third, How do I assign the "Tailhook" key to open various features on aircraft such as cargo doors? Thanks in advance for your tips.

Copy the contents of the "effects" folder that came with the model into the main effects folder.

Contact points can be found in the "aircraft.cfg". I'm not sure exactly what you will have to change them to though. Sorry  Smile

To make the gear act realistically (not sink in during landing), you'll need to make the first section of contactpoints inactive by putting "//" in front of every line and make the second section active by deleting the // in front of every line.

PS example is from A330 but the same goes for all other POSKY models.

If the designer included the tailhook in his model to open doors and such you'll need to go to your assignments and assign a command key where it says tailhook.
If you want to open doors that are not programmed to open in the first place the only thing you could do is remodel it yourself (if you know how and have the software to do so) or even better contact the designer and ask him to help you out.
