I Need FS Scenery Help

Mon Sep 12, 2005 8:17 am

alright, i downloaded an airport upgrade file but i cant get it to work heres what the readme says

Will Rogers World Airport - Oklahoma, City, Oklahoma

Installation instructions.

1. Review the Requirements.txt file. If you do not already have the required files, download and install the RWY12 program and ALL library addons. Please follow the authors installation instructions carefully - not complicated but each item needs to be installed correctly if all aspects of this scenery are to be seen.

2. Place the Afcad file wherever you keep your Afcads - being sure to remove any previous KOKC afcads first.

3. Place the Oklahoma City KOKC-Opa folder in your addon scenery folder and activate it in your scenery library OR just place the bgl file in your static objects scenery folder. This latter method means you will not have to make a seperate scenery library entry for the airport thus saving a precious scenery number!

4. If you have the Lago program, place the SE2 files in their proper location.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

The radio operated hanger can be found near "Parking 1 - GA small" and responds to 115.05 on Nav1 - changing to any other frequency will close the hanger door. There is a surprise inside for those with FSE!

If you start at "Parking 27 -Ramp GA small" you will be inside of "opa's Hanger".

FEDEX TEXTURES:

On my computer, for whatever reason, FS does not see the Fedex truck textures in my Static Objects Texture folder. To correct this I placed a copy of the Fedex .bmps in my regular Texture folder and they now appear. You may need to do this also.

This package is FREEWARE! Please do not upload to any sites which charge for access!

Use this package at your own risk - I am not responsible for any real or perceived problems with your computer. This was extensivily tested in FS2004 with no problems.

i need help understanding this and getting it to work

i got it on AVSIM

The folder called "Addon Scenery" is located in your main FS folder, Drag the folder called "Oklahoma City KOKC-Opa" from your downloaded zip into the "Addon Scenery" folder.

Unless you keep your AFCADS in another folder, then drag the included AFCAD into the "Addon Scenery" folder aswell.

Now open up FS and go to the "settings" button. Then click on "Scenery Library" Then select "Add Area...". In the window which opens navigate to your " Oklahoma City KOKC-Opa" folder. Then click "OK".

I think you will then have to restart FS. When it has restarted the scenery should have been added.

Hope this helps!!

I posted these instructions in a thread a while back  Smile

When you download your scenery, in the folder, it should contain:

Folders:

-Scenery
-Texture

There may be some other things such as read me files, screenshots etc. Don't worry about these, as they are not needed.

Create a folder, in:

C/Program Files/Microsoft Games/FS9/Add On Scenery

Name it what you want, preferably the name of the scenery, ie Malaga.

In this folder, place the two folders: Scenery and Texture.

After that, locate you AFCAD file (Should be a .bgl file) And place it in:

C/Program Files/Microsoft Games/FS9/Add On Scenery

When that is done, open up FS, and go to Settings then Scenery Library. Click on add area, and select the folder where you put the scenery and texture folders. Click ok to accept changes. Restart flight sim, and it should work.

Quoting Jetmatt777 (Thread starter):
1. Review the Requirements.txt file. If you do not already have the required files, download and install the RWY12 program and ALL library addons. Please follow the authors installation instructions carefully - not complicated but each item needs to be installed correctly if all aspects of this scenery are to be seen.

This bit could be tricky, and personally I wouldn't bother. But not doing it means you will lose detail.

Here it the Runway12 file anyway:

Any problems, let us know  Smile

It is usually in C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9.

Or ...FS2004 depending on what happened during installation.

By the way the AFCAD file (af2*.bgl) can just go in the same folder as the rest of the scenery files just installed, i.e. ...addon sceneryOklahoma City KOKC-OpaScenery.

Go to "My Computer" Then: C/Program Files/Microsoft Games/FS9

C may be labeled as Local Disk C  Smile

Have you downloaded RWY12 program and all library addons first?

By the way what file did you download and where from? I can take a look at the file and subfolders etc if you post the link here.

Ok here's what you do:

First make sure you have the RWY12 program installed.

--------------------------------

Now to install this file:

Unzip file to temporary folder (wherever you like).

Find the folder called "Setup for those WITH RWY12 Program", then into "Addon scenery", then "Oklahoma City KOKC-Opa".

Copy the Opa_KOKC.BGL file into:

C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator 9Addon SceneryStatic Objects LibraryScenery
(if FS9 is installed in a different folder replace the Flight Simulator 9 with whatever you have)

Also place the XML file in the "XML file" folder into the same folder above.

That will work as long as you have RWY12 and up-to-date libraries for it.
