The Official Video Screenshot Thread V 0.1

Tue Sep 27, 2005 12:33 am

I came across this video yesterday while on google video. Its a video of thomson 767 taking off in flight simulator from LIRF.

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=3342949667363158369&q=boeing

you will need the google video client to view it

I thought wouldnt it be great if there would be thread for stuff like this. I know that people who post screenshots have no difficulty posting screenshots, but when it comes to video it becomes alot harder.

So in the next few posts i will be posting my experience from scratch in making a video highlights movie. I will try to make it as easy as possible for others to follow if they want to. I will also try and make it using entirely free software. If any one has any ideas feel free to post.

The first step is to choose the aircraft and route
Iam favouring towards the pmdg 747 as it has great textures

Look foward to hearing your ideas

And yes i do have alot of free time on my hands  Big grin

Hey, that music was the theme from Backdraft!

Great video, thanx for sharing. Makes my FS2004 and screenshots look pretty sad in comparison.

Maybe now I can show off that perfect landing. Sometimes a mere screenshot doesn't show the skill of the pilot.

I have made a few videos using FS2004 - some with added background music.

You can find them on flightsim.com by searching for "Brompton" (minus the "") under 'FS-ACOF Misc'.

Enjoy  Smile

Thanks

Looking forward to seeing some more. I have one question though, what program do you use to capture the video. As i cant find a suitable one for the first part of the guide.

I find it easier to simply set up the camcorder on a small tripod and video the screen! It sounds daft but it actually comes out really good from an LCD monitor. Just done a flight AKL-NSN that I have yet to edit, but you can add music etc to it and it works fine!

Cheers,
Noel.
