Microsoft Flight Simulator - Good Or Bad?

Fri Oct 28, 2005 1:23 am

Hello fellow A.netters!   First of all, I want to express how psyched I am to be here. It's sooo darn cool!    My post inquires about any type of airplane simulator games that I can buy. I own the 2004 Microsoft Simulator and find it well, so so. I find it hard to maneuver the commands (i.e. turn onto the runway, turn in the air, etc...). Is it really like that difficult in reality? If there are any other related games that you can suggest, that would be awesome. Happy Flying

I think that is all that you can do.

With a joystick FS2004 is just fantastic  bouncy  !
However I use freeware adds on to fly it, the default aircrafts are not as good to me... Also airports and other senery can easily be improved, all free !
I also fly some virtual airlines, the flights become much more exciting  Smile

Joystick is the way to go. In fact i just bought a force feed-back one last week, andi hate it  Smile so if you want it, it's yours at no cost, just pick it up Big grin

For FS2004 adds on, ONE website : www.avsim.com
You just need to register....
In most files, there are precise instructions to install the thing you've downloaded.

Exemple : A very good auto-installing aircraft (Fokker 100 / 70) is provided by http://fokker.avsim.net
Easier aircraft to install simply doesn't exist !

About virtual airlines (VA), give a search at google or visit avsim/A.net forum...

Example : www.cpavirtual.org / www.swiss-va.com

YES! This is the best free-ware aircraft avaible is GREAT!

Also you NEED to get a joystick or yoke keyboards just dont work well with FS. Also take it slow do some of the flight lessons and learn how to fly the smaller planes first. Just for a week or two. It really helps if you have a nice progress. FS04 is great and lots of fun. If you have any other questions feel free to post them or contact me.

Hiya,
I have tried to fly using just the keyboard but it does not work very well, you spend the whole time making corrections. I think Flight Sim is a great game but there are things that can be done to make it better. For starters, I don't understand why they decided to not have Concorde in FS2004 a century of flight. Also, the inclusion of Airbus aircraft would also be good,

Matt

Did you get the Thrustmaster force feedback joystick?
I have that one and it's crap, I can't find the resistance switch on it so the joystick won't center itself, a lot more difficult than my old one and force feedback doesn't even work I have it wired up correctly and have force feedback switch on in FS9 options, but I still can't feel anything.
But I like the throttle on it.

Hello B777A340Fan  wave   wave

a good plave to fly for Virtual Airlines is Vatsim.net
and a good place to download planes is Avsim.com or Flightsim.com

Do not fly for a virtual aitline until you have enough experience to fly a complete flight without crashing
Lighten up while you still can, don't even try to understand, just find a place to make your stand and take it easy
