Design Your Own Airport!

Fri Nov 04, 2005 12:14 pm

Ok so today in school i got really bored so decided to make up this game. The game is really stupid and please dont bash me saying this is such a stupid topic. I am posting it cause maybe with some help it would be fun.

Start by choosing what country your airport will be in
Next choose what city

Start 2,400 points

Building costs-
Runways- 50 points each ( each runway can support 60 flights an hour)
Cargo Facilities- Fedex, Dhl and Ups 5 points per hard stand/ Airline cargo buildings 50 points

Tower- 75 points
Monorail- 200 points
Hotels- 150 points
Parking lot- 50 points ( 3,000 spots)
Parking Garage- 75 points ( 5,000 spots)
Hangers- 100 points
Gse buildings- 50 points
Private Jet center- 200 points
Rent a car centers- 100 points
Terminal- 50 points + 5 points per gate

Airlines-
Lcc- Hub-50 points focus city- 30 points Reguler- 10 points
Legacy- Hub 100 fc- 50 reg- 10
Int airline- 5 points

Lccs have a limt of 10 departures a gate

Lcc hub is 20 gates max 200 deps or you can add more gates 10 points for a lcc hub each gate will give you 10 more deps

Lcc fc is 7-14 gates

Legacy- 100 gate limt giving you a max 900 deps
Adding gates same rules as lccs

Int Airlines- 10 points initial cost giving you 1 dep and 5 points for each additional dep.

You will need to post all information and each airlines flight schudule with destionation and a.c

I will judge what airport carries most cargo, passengers, daily cargo and flights, nicest, etc....

Confusing eh give it a shot please

Tower:1
Parking Lot: 1
Hanger: 1
Terminal: 1
-10 Gates

Airlines
LCC focus city (8 Gates)

Runways-2

Cargo-Fedex-2
GHL-1
UPS-2

Tower-1

LCC-FC 14 gates
Legacy-FC 14 gates
Int airline-2 there for two gate right?

Like I said sorry that it isn't in order.

Does a runway support 60 takeoffs and landings per hour, or 60 takeoffs OR landings per hour?

Oh, and by the way, this thread isn't stupid at all, but when you make up something like this because you're bored in school, you know you have the aviation bug badly.  biggrin

Sorry guys im in ORLANDO so i have not had a chance to go on the comp.

Charter airlines stand- 5 points ( 5 flights)
Reginal airlines- 5 points per gate ( 10 flights)

If your airport reaches 10 million pax you get an extra 500 points.

Im coming home fri or sat so i will either post the new pax rankings then or maybe tonite.

As for making your own airline i am working on a point system for that.

Thanks guys,
Keep them coming

Brisbane Airport, in conjunction with Qantas, is proud to announce the opening of Brisbane Airports Terminal 2. The new terminal features 27 gates, capable of handling the A330, which Qantas will begin operation to Brisbane. Qantas is also proud to announce that services at Brisbane have been updated to a Hub operation. This will mean many more flights in the future.

The new underground monorail connecting Terminal 2 with Terminal 1 has been opened, and is now fully operational.

Terminal 1 has also had another 20 gates open today, which means all gates at Terminal 1 are now operational, with a total of 42 gates available.

Two new airlines have also begun services to Brisbane, with JetStars first flight touching down this morning, and QantasLinks inaugural service landing shortly after. In a slight change of plans, JetStar will operate from the farthest gates at Terminal 1, along side Virgin Blue, its main competitor out of Brisbane. QantasLink flights will arrive and depart from Terminal 2, which will allow for easy connections between Qantas flights and QantasLink regional services.

Additionally, Virgin Blue has upgraded services to Brisbane to Hub operations, which, like Qantas, will result in more flights.

In more news, Hyatt Brisbane International has been completed in record time, meaning that transferring passengers now have the option of luxurious over night accommodation in the airport area.

DHL has also increased there services to Brisbane to Daily, and are planning on adding more routes to Brisbane in the future, as are FedEx.

Construction on Brisbanes Terminal 3, or the International Terminal, has also begun. With 21 gates able of handling the A380, I will open in the near future. In response to the growing demand for slots to Brisbane, a second runway will be built on the western side of the airport, and opening should coincide with the opening of the international terminal.

The airports new parking garage will also open shortly, along with Airlines Cargo handling facilities.

RE: Design Your Own Airport!

Brisbane Airport is proud to announce the opening of Terminal 1, satellite B! The new satellite has 16 stands, of which 8 will be used by QantasLink (moving from Terminal 2, to this new satellite) and by new regional operator REX. The new satellite is not connected by the monorail system, but rather by a bus service from Terminal 1 (for REX passengers) and from Terminal 2 (for QantasLink passengers) Therefore, passengers arriving on Qantas mainline flights only have to jump on a bus to be connected to their onward QantasLink regional departure, while REX passengers just have to check in at Terminal 1’s main area, and be transferred directly to their REX flight.

Brisbane’s domestic parking garage has just opened, adding an additional 5,000 parking positions for passengers.

FedEx has also bought an additional 2 hard stands, and DHL has bought another 3.

JetStar has added a new destination: Hamilton Island, which is now directly competing with Virgin Blue on the route. Also, frequencies to Sydney and Melbourne have been increased,

Brisbane Airport is currently in talk with numerous International Carriers in preparation of Terminal 3’s opening early next week. At this point, we can release that there will be direct flights to the Western USA, Asia, and, of course, the Pacific.

We are also proud to announce the opening of the Airlines Cargo handling facilities. Schedules are included below, along with updated FedEx flights, DHL flights, and REX flights.

Brisbane Airport is proud to announce the opening of its second runway. Located on the Eastern side of the airport, it will mainly be used by international arrivals/departures, and cargo flights, as its location results in long taxi times to the domestic terminal. Although opened, the runway will not be operational until Brisbane's first international arriva, which we can release, will be a Qantas 744 flying in from Bangkok.

Oh I have a question..for domestic legacy airlines operating international (like Qantas), what do i do? are they considered int carriers?

Through the course of the day, arrivals from Singapore Airlines, Thai, Cathay Pacific, Eva, China Airlines, China Southern, Garuda, Air New Zealand, United Airlines, JAL, and, of course, numerous Qantas flights.

The parking garage at the new terminal opened, as did the new taxi rank at Terminal 3, AND terminal 1.

RE: Design Your Own Airport!

Sun Nov 13, 2005 7:41 am

The NLV Int. is proud to annouce that we have just signed a contract with DL to have there new hub at NLV. With this we will be building a 100 gate terminal and a new runway. Aswell as a some other little thing that we are tuning right now. I will work on the flight tonight and tomorrow. If I have Int. flights with them dose it cost the 10 points like if it was a Int. Airline? And with 100 gates how many flights do I get, and do I have to 5 runways rather than 4?

Thanks,
Nick

PS With the gates(300), runway(50), Hub(100), and GSE (50) I have 885 left.

Well Atl has like 2,000 flights on 4 runways so you can have up to 750 deps on 2 runways etc..

The trip to disney was pretty fun but it gets boring after like 20 times i think that was my 20th time there ( my dad works for C0 )

The new and Improved Bristol Lulsgate:

Extend the current runway 9/27 and add another runway possibly 15/33 or 6/24, both runways up to 10,000 feet plus. 100 points.

Extend the parking and terminal right along the side of the current runway 9/27 adding about another 15 gates and lots more heavy capability. 125 points.

Add car parks and a hotel (this is being done anyway). 200 points.

No need for GA or Bizjet really, or little, most of it goes to Filton.

Add a small cargo terminal and try to hook up business as a stopover for South American/USA/Canada locations?? 3 stands for UPS/TNT - 65 points.

New grand tower. 75 points.

FlyBe hub. 50 points.

Easyjet Focus City. 30 points.

BA Focus city 50 points.

Eastern Focus City. 30 points (regional).

Plenty of Chav charters - MyT and Thomson dominate. Lots of regional services, Aer Lingus, KLM, Air Arann, Air Southwest, maybe call that 100 points?

Makes... 825 points?

Of course I want Bristol to be a 4 runway superhub.... but it's not gonna happen!

I also want to let all of the press that is here that DL is also going to have a Hanger here at NLV. We are putting in a new parking garage aswell, and a taxi terminal. I'm going to make up some more Cargo flights but I have been sitting inf front of this thing for too long. I should have 685 left, I hope that I get to 10mil soon. And how many ponts for a cargo terminal for DL?

Thanks,
Nick

PS Sorry that it is soooo long.
