Virtual Airlines

Mon Jan 16, 2006 4:33 am

Hey all, I was wondering... how many people on here belong to virtual airlines? Real or Fictional?

I belong to Pacific Airways (http://pacific.flyafa.com) im a main fan of it because of the large online presence and the fleet... anyone else?

I like the fact that you get to fly for many airlines and have great aircraft variety.

Just out of curiosity, what's the difference between a real VA and a virtual VA?  silly

A 'Real' VA is a VA based upon a Real world airline and a 'Fictional' VA is just one that is made up.

Thanks

You guys really know your stuff, but the problem you guys have is there is no scenery for Zurich, and even that can't be blamed on you.

I've flown with so many virtual airlines I can't remember them all, after a while you just get bored. I've flown with Southwest, Airtran, Fedex, UPS, Frontier, United, Skywest and others I can't remember. The ones that lasted a while were Southwest and UPS. I was a senior F/O at Southwest. But my favorite virtual airline was UPS. There is so much you can do with UPS virtual, they even have actual real routes that UPS flys and you had to bid for those trips, very realistic. I recommend them.

Another MetroAir pilot here. I also fly for Cargolux Virtual and LAN Virtual so I get a change of scenery and aircraft. One week I'll fly for MetroAir, another week, I'll fly for Cargolux, a third week, I'll fly for LAN Virtual, on the fourth week, I'll fly for Metro, and so on...

Out of curiousity...I have two questions...what's the best way to advertise a VA? Also, what's the best way to find a website designer?

Thanks,
Anthony

You could start threads about your airline on VA forums (here, AVSIM etc.) In answer to the webdesign question either ask around or use a online designer like moonfruit. I may be able to help but I'm quite weighed down with web design work at the moment.

My Virtual Airline went into a sort of Metaphysical state, but I still do the additions, AI, colors for American Travelways Airlines, sort of an Anagram to TWA. It also runs Air Vietnam, Isaan Air, ConWest, and there is in Ozark VA, but I have my own Ozark service to feed the ATW hubs, cause ATW is pure international pretty much like Pan Am.

Hmmmmm..... Don't quite know where I got it, but I have Zurich scenery. I think it's FS2002 scenery, but has an FS2004 AFCAD and update. Works well. Flown in there a couple times. Look on AVSIM under FS2002 scenery and FS2004 AFCADS.
