Air Lambert February 06 Release - First 75 NC

Wed Feb 08, 2006 8:28 am

Hello,

It’s February already and there’s lots of news at Air Lambert USA to pack into this release. The monthly press conference took place today at The Hilton London Gatwick and here’s all the hottest news straight off the press.

USA SHAKE-UP

It is well acknowledged that the US division has been sidetracked since it began with a lack of aircraft and bad timetables which have left things pretty messy. Not anymore! Right at the beginning of this year Air Lambert took on a new USA manager, David Nierenberg who has since been working hard to change things for this coming Summer. With the sizeable order of 737/777 aircraft starting delivery from next month it is an exciting time for Air Lambert USA and this Summer’s timetable is nothing short of efficient and excellent with many changes.

The Boeing 757 aircraft will be fitted with winglets and put on transcon operations to New York JFK and Boston only utilising the 757’s range and medium capacity. All other short and medium haul routes will be operated by the 737.

Most destinations have been kept though IAD and ORD will be dropped in favour of BWI and MDW and EWR ,TPA and MCI are also added. The cities served will be:

BOS: 1x daily 738 (in addition to the 757 service)
MDW: 2x daily 738
LAS: 2x daily 738
MCO: 2x daily 738
PHX: 2x daily 738
SEA: 3x daily 738, 1x daily 73G
PDX: 1x daily 738, 1x daily 73G
YYZ: 1x daily 738
EWR: 2x daily 73G
TPA: 2x daily 73G
MSP: 3x daily 73G (except for Friday and Saturday, when it's 2x 73G)
BWI: 1x daily 73G
SLC: 1x daily 73G
PSP: 1x daily 73G
STL: 1x daily 73G
ABQ: 1x daily 73G
HOU: 1x daily 73G
PHL: 1x daily 73G
CUN: 1x daily 73G (except for Friday and Saturday, when it's 2x 73G)
MCI: 1x daily 73G

All 737/757 aircraft will have PTV’s installed throughout every cabin as we feel this is so much more important in the US market, evident by the big success with such carriers as JetBlue.

The 777 operation will grow throughout the Summer, this is the plan for when all deliveries are completed, expected to be sometime in 2007:

777-200ER: LGW (X2 daily), KIX, ICN, CDG
777-300ER: NRT, SYD, HKG, PEK, SHA
777-200LR: SIN, BKK

We will be introducing a Premium Economy section on the newly delivered 777’s between Y and J, more details to come next month.

SILVER SERVICE

Silver service is our new revolutionary LAX shuttle offering the ultimate way to travel between the two cities for business pax. With strong competition expected on the route this different approach should help secure much of the business market needed on this route.

2 dedicated 737’s will be assigned on the route with an all Business class interior featuring comfy leather seats with a spacious 3-2 config and drop down screens showing the latest news. Complimentary newspapers will be offered during boarding and a light meal will be served onboard with real china and metal cutlery adding to the professional experience. An audio channel will play soothing music through the noise cancelling headphones provided should anyone just want to spend the hour relaxing putting a stressful day behind them. Laptop points will be provided at each seat and a closet at the front of the aircraft will have the space required to hang jackets.

The new USA Manager, David Nierenberg said the following “We’re very pleased to have taken this large step towards making Air Lambert the foremost carrier in the Bay Area. The new aircraft we have received will allow us to bring Air Lambert’s consistently high standard of service to twenty destinations in North America, and nine destinations internationally on three continents, with a fourth to come in the winter season. The Silver Service will provide the ultimate in convenient business travel for road warriors, and planned 747-200 project (see March 06 release) will offer vacationers a one-of-a-kind service to premier leisure destinations throughout the Caribbean. We look forward to continuing to make the sky a more successful place for our customers.”

All of the USA fleet will have registration changes when they enter the paintshop for the new livery. N530AL (formally N780AL) was rolled out this previous week and enters service again tomorrow to Phoenix as LRT270.

CAPACITY INCREASE ON BRUSSELS FLIGHTS

Air Lambert is pleased to announce after the downgrade in capacity last October that we are once again increasing capacity on this important route for our network. With the recent fold of a carrier providing significant capacity on the LON-BRU route we have taken the decision to move quickly with strong support from affiliate airline Air Belgium. Our morning flight, LMT210, which carries many Belgium passengers connecting from the ABB network for our BGI flight, will be upgraded from the Airbus A319 to A321 and a new lunchtime flight is to be launched, also using the same aircraft, though this is expected to change in the Summer months.

So, the USA side of things is finally getting the boost it has long been waiting for and there is more to come next month so look out for it including the old era of flying being brought back to life and information on our seating changes throughout the longhaul fleet.

Happy Flying!
