Thu Apr 06, 2006 5:17 am

CLS A346. At least it looks like an A346, not like PSS, where the modellers always seem to slack off. The PSS 777 would only be good for the panel.

Greetings AirPacific,

I don't have any experience with CLS, but I've heard good things. I flew the PSS A320 series for many flights, and overall they were pretty good. But every once and a while bugs would pop up that would ruin an entire flight. That gave me a bad impression of PSS even though I did a lot of repaints for them. My personal opinion would be to go with CLS and give them a try.

That's correct, though I personally didn't mind that when I bought it. In the end, you can still merge the A346 with the PSS Panel.  Wink

Hey All!!

Thankyou very much for all the answers. It seems like it is almost a tie in here, not what I had hoped for Big grin

I guess I will buy the CLS to start with. The problem is that I can't just return it in the store as I don't think that any store nearbuy sells any of the two products. There is EB games, and they sell a few add-ons to FS, but not very many. I already have the PMDG 747 and the LDS 767, so maybe it is time for an Airbus, although if what you're saying about the FMS is true, I am a little disappointed about that. You get very high expectations to add-ons after having flown the PMDG and LDS  Smile

Again, thankyou very much for your replies, they are much appreciated!

I want a B777 sim so bad, I've been waiting for Wilco to come out with its B777 but its not going to have the level of flight deck sim as PSS. On the other hand Wilco's exterior model looks stunning, while PSS's B77W's look some what odd.

Has anyone installed the new patch for the PSS B777? has it improved the overall product? Im very hesitant to buy it.

Hey, dont buy either Wilco or PSS i have the PSS, and the biggest shit i have ever payed for! I swear its just a horror, nothing works good the model sucks on both the FMC is to cry about and i dont even want to mention about the rest these planes are just awful and I hope both companies go out of business to keep the FS world clean from these idiots.

Just my opinion, but the forums say the same, if you buy a PMDG and then fly a PSS you just notice how bad the PSS is made, PMDG is by far the best with LDS and those are the only 2 add on companies that would make a proper 777 add-on so were going to have to wait  Sad

And no the patch is still crap, the people wo make this plane seem to have no idea about what they are doing.

Hey, I just wanted to say I got the CLS 346, afcourse it doesnt feel like a PMDG, but the model and panel are done very well and the only contra is the plane not having a full functioning FMC.

Quoting Pilotdude09 (Reply 4):

Realistic? MTOW for the 777-300ER at 776,000 LBS and a rotation speed of 186kts??? WTF, just for your info. the maximum tyre speed for the 777-300ER is 170kts....so if this is realistic your tyres would have ripped apart in real life.

This add on is a rip-off and the problem is people dont know the facts of the real plane, I have had the chance to fly a full inflight simulator at LH in FRA on the 744 Sim for 3 times, and the closest Add-on maker that comes to that full inflight simulator is PMDG, i dont know were the people from PSS learned doin this ,but they have no idea what they are doing.

Since you already have the PMDG 747 and LDS 767 you could also go for the PMDG 737.

Hey everyone!

I just bought the CLS, and idk what to think about it... I like the Virtual Cockpit and the cockpit window, but I think the sounds suck! also, for some reason the aircraft kills my framerate, and I just switched to a PMDG 747, and then my framerates go back to normal.. I guess I will just use the CLS panel in project opensky airbus'es

There is an SP1 in the works which will address the framerates issue. However, I do agree with the sounds. If someone could make a high quality Trent 500 soundpack, that would be great.

Seriously dude, these comments are very unproffesional and stupid. You have to realize that during the designing of a complex airliner the possibilities of the FS2004 are very much blocking the programmers. I often hear the statement that the spool-up of some addon-airliners are way too fast. People criticize this as unrealistic. But they do not keep in mind that in order to make the A/T work correctly and reliable it has to be the case.

The MTOW is pretty damn close to what it should be (0.13% off - not a huge deal in my book). Check Boeing's website. As for the 170kts max tire speed, your claim is false - it's 235mph, which comes out to about 203kts. Again, check Boeing's website (you'll have to delve into the more detailed tech specs).

Are you criticizing PSS's realism based on the fact that their 777 doesn't handle like a 747? That doesn't make much sense - in fact it would prove that it is, in fact, realistic.

PSS is not the best out there - PMDG is admittedly better, but credit where credit is due - there is yet to be a more complete, more well-rounded Airbus package out there. It's not the most modern, but it's an FS2002-era product, and nobody has beaten it yet with regard to systems (yeah, the exterior model isn't great, but if you fly from the outside it's not for you, nor is any high-detail add-on. I still fly them regularly, and thoroughly enjoy them.

And if you're going to rip on PSS, have the common decency to not use false information in doing so.

True, PSS has provided us with some good products. PSS world airliners (B777, B747) package for FS2002 made me a simmer. But I was very disappointed with the Airbus Pro package, it cost me a fortune, and didn't live up to all the hype around it. I have herd very negative opinions about the PSS's new 777, even the forum on Avsim is full of people complaining and registering their discontent about PSS's latest release.

PMDG's Queen of the Skies, is probably the best pay-ware aircraft I have ever bought, but my personal favorite is still LDS B767.

Hey, im sorry if I was a little to affensive, but I just really felt ripped off by this product, it took PSS ages to bring out the FIX and the plane still looks like a streched mix between a 777 with engines of a 767, and no im not trying to compare a 747 with a 777, do you fly PMDG?? its sound like you dont because if you do, you would really undestand me, PMDG has the realism of no other Add-On Maker out there when it comes to making Boeing Add ons.

I have heard many idiots claming that PSS is by far the best out there, but usually these people dont have PMDG or LDS and dont even know how to use the VNAV, FMC, and LNAV functions properly, making the PSS the perfect plane for them because they are to retarded to learn.

And of course everyone needs to learn and Im not making fun of the people that just started off, but if you dont want to learn how to use the planes properly and dont know what you are talking about just shut up.

When I started off with the PMDG i had no idea how to use the FMC but after many times of messing up I finally now how to properly fly this plane.

Check the PSS manuals, it states that for T/O flaps 5, 15, and 20 are available, and this is total bullshit, there is no availeble flaps 20 for T/O on any of the 777 models, and its not only a manual error but also in the FMC, if you dont believe me try the FMC put in flaps 20 in the flaps selection in the LSK 2 and then tell me if the FMC gives you a error?

What i dont get is why your getting pissed about my personal opinion, the topic is about PSS or CLS and I just stated my personal opinion.

Quoting LukasMako (Reply 16):

Making a plane and not knowing the flap settings? or just adding a new setting? but yeah of course FS 2004 prevents them from making realistic airliners, tell that to PMDG and LDS...

I personally like the PSS Airbuses especially the A330/A340 very much. While I pretty much dislike the PSS 777. Altough I liked their first 777.

The fact that you like or dislike an airliner cannot be judged by simple facts. It is simply taste.

Leo,
A little off topic, but Im curious to know. How did the real 744 sim feel compared to FS? how did the controls feel? was it easier or harder to maintain control flight in the real simulator? How well did FS prepare you for the real thing?

Hey, the simulator is different due to movement of the wole cabin, i now have the CH Yoke Pedals and Throttles and I must say they dont directly feel like the sim. because the yoke on the 744 Sim is a lot bigger and moves a lot better
making the aicraft preciser to control.

But from the panel etc. FMC A/P the PMDG really coveres everything in the real 744 cockpit. Flight Dinamics wise the PMDG 744 was made with help from 744 pilots so the rotation speeds etc. are exactly the same, because I let the instructor print out all the info. about my Sim. Flight and then compared at same TOW the Rotation Speed and landing speed with my PMDG and they matched.

I only have the PMDG 737 and that is far away from the Level-D. And do not forget the PMDG products (if you want them completed and realistic) cost you 100$. The Level-D just around 35$ and that makes a difference.

I'll say it again. PSS is not as good as PMDG. I know this, and I have no problem saying it. But I disagree with you saying that their products are crap. There is FAR worse payware out there than PSS, and PSS's patched-over FS2002 Airbus package is still the best payware Airbus out there.

I have no objection to your opinion (though I disagree with it). What I object to is your childish way of putting them down. If you want to be constructive about it, such as "I don't feel that PSS products have the same level of realism that PMDG products do, such as the omission of more minor systems," I would have no problem whatsoever. But when you say stuff like:

Yup. Well, maybe not oxygen masks as such but FS2Crew for the 737 allows you to "test" them. If you can still get them separately, download the manuals from the Precision Manuals site. They're almost worth the cost of the 744 on their own.  Smile
