I closed v22 as it was way too long and took forever to load, which paved the way for v23 to begin. I announced the winners of the comp in a seperate thread so that; 1. People could congratulate the winners, or have any questions about it or whatever.. and 2. I didnt want the new screenshot thread to be lots of posts with just words as they grow too long too quick when people post messages rather than pictures.

Hey guys!

Nice to see everyone keeping busy with FS! The screenshots are just getting better and better. I'm moving to Germany (again) on Saturday and hopefully start flying again in the next few weeks. I'll be running FS on my notebook so the quality of my next screenshots won't be anything special.

GEEZ, thanks again for helping me out with the DUS scenery last year, I'm really enjoying it!

Take care,
Patrick

From where are you travelling to Germany and where in Germany?
I'm often spotting in YUL so if you're departing from there I may see you taking off.

Hey Ben!

I'm moving to the DUS area and I'll be flying from YLW-FRA via YVR and YYC. Unfortunatly I'll be a few hundred miles north of YUL this time around.

BTW, nice screenshots of the AAB767. I especially like shot number 10 (the one where it's flying over the Atlantic and you can see the vapour trail of another a/c infront of you.

Take care,
Patrick

Hey Feister -
Those are some GREAT screenshots!!! Had me laughing quite a bit. I think my favorite one is the "check out my air on that bounce" i do that occasionally too. Its mostly when I'm goin to slow and then get into a stall right before landing.

Anyways. Welcome to the screenshot threads!

Here's my flight for today. I took off from 34R and landed at 07 with barely enough for 90 minutes of holding patterns, but as always there were no problems with traffic at SJOBig grin And ontime performance was excellent, we left the gate just some 3 minutes before schedulded departure time and we landed just some 10 minutes ahead of schedule.

Airline: Air Canada
Aircraft: Boeing 767-375ER (C-FXCA)
Flight number: AC998
Departure Airport: Toronto/Lester B. Pearson International Airport, Canada (YYZ/CYYZ)
Destination: Alajuela/Juan Santamaría (El Coco) International Airport, Costa Rica (SJO/MROC)
Departure time: 09:10
Arrival time: 12:25

This is a fictional flight, in the superb ATR72 by Flight 1. This was a short flight from Malta (LMML) to Palermo (LICJ). I had no autopilot on this flight, I am the kind of guy that likes to jump right in without reading the manuals. Maybe one of these day's I'll figure it out. In the landing shots at Palermo that is an Alitalia MD80 behind me.

As Gunsontheroof posted, my scenery comes from avsim.com and is freeware. Before I fly into an area, I check avsim.com for any available scenery and if it looks good, I'll install it. I also have AI models installed from Aardvark, FSPainter, EvolveAI and others (Dee Waldron, Henry T, Fernando Martinez and so on). The aircraft that I fly also depends on where I am. I recently flew through Russia, so I flew alot of freeware Russian aircraft (AN24, IL86, IL96, AN148, TU204, AN124 & AN225) that are also available on avsim.com and avsim.ru, and with these aircraft I also searched both sites looking for better panels and wingviews. My next few flights will be in a SGA MD80, then it is onto a Meljet 772 for a longhaul from Milan to Miami, and then onto the Caribbean for some island hopping in the Flight1 ATR72.

Super stuff everybody  Smile

Here's some from last friday...

British Airways 1336
London Heathrow - Newcastle
Airbus A320
G-BUSF

And then I did a random fictional charter flight this morning...

bmi British Midland 7804
London Heathrow - Lausanne
Airbus A319
G-DBCA

The default Lausanne Airport (LSGL) consists of a Runway.. and only that! I messed around with the AFCAD... and activated the airport for traffic, Creating a fictional AI airline called 'Lausanne Air'! - I created the AI flightplans for it, using a BAe 146-200, but during testing, the 146-200 overshot the runway during take off, and due to runway length and default scenery restrictions, I was only able to extend the runway by about 300 feet which wasnt enough. - So I changed the service to Lausanne from the 146 to a plain white Fokker 50 (ex KLM), which didn't overrun the runway! - The 146-200 now is based at Geneva!

Here is the BAe146-200 in full livery at Geneva.

...and the ex-KLM Fokker 50, yet to be painted.

Hey, Great shots!! I've alwasy been wondering, how do you activate traffic and make an airline to go to selected airports? I have that AFCAD program and Ultimate traffic so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aircanada, I love the shots with the aircraft turning on the ground (Last pic) and also the one were its flying over the threshold!

Freedomfly, That landing shot looks AWESOME!!

I swear these shots are looking better and better everyday!

You need to have AFCADs that are edited to include parking info for airlines. Then in your aircraft.cfg file, you need to add in the parking info, like this:

atc_parking_types=CARGO
atc_parking_codes=CLX

atc_parking_codes=KAL
atc_parking_types=GATE

atc_parking_types=Mil_Cargo
atc_parking_codes=C130,M003,DOD

atc_parking_types=MIL_COMBAT
atc_parking_codes=M001,F16

ProjectAI's AFCAD section has some good AFCADs or you can always search for the AFCADs on avsim.com. The AFCADs that come with Ultimate Traffic are basic and do not include parking info.

Actually now that I reread your email, you were asking about traffic going to airports and not parking. If you have UT, make sure that you compile your traffic and you should see traffic at your airports. If you are having problems with UT, come on over to the UT Forums at http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/forums/ where I am a moderator and there are a bunch of other's that can help with any problems in UT.

It was time to hit Miami for me again. This time on the Douglas designed Boeing Maddog, lots of Delta traffic over Florida and with lots of shiny Eastern hockeysticks in ATL.

Airline: AirTran Airways
Aircraft: Boeing 717-2BD (N940AT)
Flight number: FL501
Departure Airport: Altanta/Hartsfield Jackson (The William B. Hartsfield) International Airport, Georgia (ATL/KATL)
Destination: Miami International Airport, Florida (MIA/KMIA)
Departure time: 07:05
Arrival time: 08:51

In case you're wondering, the model is by Erick Cantu (search for SGA or MD-95 on flightsim.com) and the MIA scenery is FlyTampa MIA.

Airline: American Airlines
Aircraft: Project Opensky B757-200
Flight number: Not a real scheduled flight
Departure Airport: Miami International Airport, Miami, Florida (MIA/KMIA)
Destination: Luis Munoz Marin International Airport, San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU/TJSJ)

A rather quiet flight, with some great sunset views. There was a government official at MIA and I guess they were not getting the same treatment as AF1 does. Their Gulfstream had to hold for quite a bit of departing traffic. You can see it on my rotation shot and in the tower view shot. The landing was a different story. I had to do a go around because at about 6 miles out, I was still over 10,000 feet. I opted to do a visual approach on the next attempt I struck the tail on the runway. Other from some freightened pax, everybody was ok and we evacuated the plane away from the gates near the fire equipment.

Hey Csturdiv-
I was wondering how you got that really cool looking tarmac? It has all those lines through it and makes it look more real than the normal grey color. I added the link below for an example of what i am talking about. Hope i made my self clear.  Big grin

Dan,

I installed some textures called Airport Environment Upgrade 7.0. You can download it off of www.avsim.com. Search for the following: aeu7.zip.
