POSKY's 767's Turning Probs

Hi all,
Don't know if any of you are having the same issue I am encountering but with the Project Opensky's 767's, it seems extremely difficult for the aircraft to turn onto taxiways. I am finding myself having to slow down to 5kts and using my differential breaks to turn onto a taxiway or to make any maneuvers that require a turn. It always seems to take a wide space for a turn to be completed. The -200's are the worst. I have tried to adjust the sensitivity for the rudder to the max but nothing notable was noticed.

Anyone experiencing this or have any suggestions.

Great models none-the-less.

I can't say as I've had your problem. What I might suggest is going over to their forum and posting this problem, and I'm sure someone will be able to help you solve your problem. For the most part, they are a very helpful bunch.  Smile

I've encountered the same problems, too. I downloaded DL adn CO 767-400's and 300. I don't know how to fix them so I just have been dealing with it!

Also the 400's are pretty hard to takeoff with. They don't rotate properly VR.

They won't. The usual response from them is going to be either "Read the manual" or "If you can't handle it, use the easy FDE". They're pretty hostile when it comes to such questions.

I don't think you'd need differencial brakes for a regular turn IRL. The differential brakes are probably used for very tight turns, such as a 180 on those turning bays at the end of a runway. All I can suggest to you is to buy the Level-D 767-300 and forget about the crap FDEs POSKY put into their 767s. Trust me, once you'll buy the LDS 767, you'll love it.

From my experience watching the threads daily, as long as you do a search and don't find the answer to your question, explain your problem as best you can, and not act like an idiot, most folks will answer intelligently and maturely. Yes, there are the occasional boneheads that can't help but act silly, but the admin is normally pretty good about squealching them.

Again, I'd suggest doing a search to see if a thread has already been posted about the subject. If it hasn't, make your own posting in the flight dynamics board, and you should get a decent response from one of the POSKY members.

Is that one easier to land than the POSKY? The difficulty I still have in landing the POSKY 767 has earned the 767 the nickname "Flying Brick". I hate how it floats when you flare and then slams down.

The Level D is a joy to hand fly, providing you have configured it properly.  Smile

Hi guys this is my first post! I think this problem is to do with the rudder and the nose wheel, if it is the guys at posky will probably give you a command key to switch the auto damper on.

From what I saw at the POSKY site, it appears they're getting ready to re-do the 767s entirely. I couldn't find any updated FDEs or info though. I love the 764, but you absolutely CANNOT rely on that nosewheel steering worth a damn.

Like I said, when you get the Level-D 767, you'll love it. It's very easy yet very realistic to fly, you get a fully functional FMC for a true pilot's feel and for real preflight, the visual model is stunning (when I saw the first shots of the LDS 767, I pretty much "fell in love with it" at first sight and one month later I bought it), you get a fully functional Virtual Cockpit (no cabin, but who cares?), Wingviews and more. It's like a real 767-300ER, only for FS and absolutely worth those 40 bucks. Once you go Level-D 767, you'll never go back. Big grin

That's simple. Just use CTRL-D and you'll have the yaw damper switched on and off whenever you like. All this provided that the aircraft.cfg is actually configured for use with the yaw damper (some aircraft have the yaw damper in the FDE disabled). If turning the yaw damper doesn't work at all, go to the aircraft.cfg, look for the [autopilot] section and change the yaw damper gain value from zero to one, so it reads like this:

yaw_damper_gain=1.000000

Re-do them how? The original modeller of that 767 has left the group and now runs a payware group. It's highly unlikely he'll re-do anything. POSKY still has to re-do the CRJ-700 they started, which is also made by the modeller of the 767 v4.
