Your Most Visited Airport In Flight Simulator

Fri Jun 09, 2006 6:39 pm

As the thread name says, what is your most visited airport in Flight Sim?

Mine is Heathrow.

In 2006, approx 80% of my flights have been either to or from Heathrow.
I tend to have favourite routes aswell...

Inbound to Heathrow:
x6 Oslo (all British Airways)
x6 Luanda (all British Airways)
x5 Manchester (all British Airways)
x3 Barcelona (all British Airways)
x3 Dubai (all British Airways)
x3 Dusseldorf (all British Airways)
x3 Glasgow (2 x British Airways, 1 x bmi British Midland)
x3 Newcastle (all British Airways)

Outbound from Heathrow:
x7 Oslo (5 x British Airways, 2 x SAS Braathens)
x6 Luanda (all British Airways)
x6 Manchester (all British Airways)
x5 Dusseldorf (4 x British Airways, 1 x Lufthansa)
x4 Philadelphia (all British Airways)
x3 Amsterdam (2 x KLM, 1 x bmi British Midland)
x3 Dubai (all British Airways)
x3 Hamburg (2 x British Airways, 1 x Lufthansa)
x3 Newcastle (all British Airways)

I know there are a number of you out there that log their flights, so share your info!

SFO and NUQ. I always test aircraft starting at NUQ and landing 6 or 7 minutes later at SFO.

Lately mine has been TJSJ, since I am flyiing all of the American Connection ATR72-500 flights out of San Juan. Up until now, I never had a flightplan, I would fly from A to B and my next flight would be from B to ???.

AUS for me.

Without a doubt, my most flown route is between AUS-DFW or vice versa. I love my AA Mad Dog from JCA, too! I originally had the SGA model which was great, but the JCA is phenominal!

Hmmm my most common (overseas) destinations would be

1 - FAO - Faro
1 - PMI - Palma
2 - ZTH - Zakynthos
3 - TFS - Tenerife Sur
4 - RHO - Rhodes / Rodos
5 - LPA - Las Palmas
6 - MLA - Malta Luqa

I'd list my most departed UK Airports but theres not really a list, MAN is my home airport and thats where I'm based but I can spend the odd week flying out of BRS.
Barton Aerodrome is my most used light aircraft airport though.

Mine would be Edinburgh but not by much. I don't often do "there and back" flights but tend to go on a wander. I'm currently on a round Europe trip to visit some places I haven't been to in FS, such as Istanbul, Moscow, Madrid.

Keflavik's somewhere I often drop into when I'm crossing the Atlantic (there's something very atmospheric about a night landing there in low visibility) and I can't help visiting JFK when I do that.

I like flying to the Big Apple, but when flying from Europe, I actually prefer landing at EWR because you are overflying the New York skyline.

that looks really nice!

I experienced northern lights when flying CPH-HNL. The route goes directly over the North Pole. Very nice flight indeed!

In real life, presumably, since you can't fly over the poles in FS? I saw them in real life for the first time on my ORD-LHR flight last autumn. Unfortunately, the night vision on my newer camcorder isn't as good as it is on my older one so I didn't get very good footage.

You can fly over the poles landmass, even though it's not possible to fly over the "spot". There are airports on the south pole, very challenging Big grin

Not in real life. Well the flight from CPH-HNL takes you just south of the geographic north pole, but you're still overflying the landmasses just like JohnKrist pointed out, so it is possible in FS. I have never seen northern lights in real life, but I'd love to though.

I normally fly out of Edinburgh, my 'Home' airport, although ive just completed a round the world tour so I havent flown from EDI for a few months now!

For testing aircraft I normally use prestwick, due to its long runway and lack of traffic.

Ive never seen the northern lights in FlightSim, I think the furthest north ive been is Inverness! I was going to fly BOS-KEF-EDI as the last two legs of my round the world tour, but decided to just head straight BOS-EDI....

Indeed. I landed a 744 very "successfully" at McMurdo Sound... then proceeded to slide off the far end of the runway and into the freezing ocean!  sarcastic

I'd spent a lot of time in the tropics and fancied a change - big mistake! Nah, I'm glad I did it. I picked it out of the water, shook it down and plonked it on a parking spot. Departure was uneventful but scenic.  Smile

Chris!

If you did that to all your flights, your list would be a bit more extensive, and amazing than mine! Big grin

It was fun scanning through the Excel file where everything is kept though. Bought back some memories!

Like I said, at a milestone at the moment, 300th flight! [BA109 to Dubai!]
And according to ACARS, it was G-YMMN  rotfl

Since I tend to fly a lot of Continental flights, my most visited airport would have to be EWR followed by IAH (suprise suprise). Behind those two it would have to be LHR and after that who knows, it would be a very long list.

Hey

I guess mine would be

1. LHR (my real world base & my FS base)
2. JFK
3. EWR
4. MIA
5. LAX
6. SFO
7. SEA

These also seem to be my top real world routes as well! Shocking!
