Urgent Help Needed!

Sat Jul 22, 2006 4:36 pm

Hi guys.

I'm reinstalling FS. When I get to about 88% a warning pops up. This is what is says:
"Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004 has encountered a disk error while writing to the file C:Program FilesMicrosoft GamesFlight Simulator9SceneryWorld.cab . Make sure your hard disk is not full , and that the file is not in use"

My hard disk is definitely not full. 26+ GB's of space left. I've made a backup of my whole FS folder though. Could this be what is intefering?

It gives 3 options : "Retry ; Abort and Ignore" . This happened before and I clicked ignore and my fs scenery was all messed up. Any help with this please???

Thanks

1. Did you delete the FS directory or did you properly uninstall it?

2. If you properly uninstalled it, I would then go and delete all the directories left over the try reinstalling.

Howdy,

I encoutered a similar problem, but the file in question was "TOKOYO.CAB" but i just hit ignore and it completed the installation, i flew around the tokoyo area and everything seemed the norm.

As the others have said above, completly remove it from your system, then go into program files and delete the "MICROSOFT GAMES" folder (Or the FS9 Folder if you have other microsoft games installed).

Them find the FS9.cfg file, its hidden within application data, so if your not sure where it is, enable hidden files and do a windows search for the file (Start+F) and delete it.

Reboot your PC to reset the registry and they and install it again.

Hope this helps,

Lew

Thanks guys.

Found the problem. All this caused by a dirty disk. Gave it a clean and everything seems normal again.  Silly
