Flight Sim Crash Problems......

Mon Aug 07, 2006 8:19 pm

hiya
looking for some advice really, my flight sim (2004) suddenly crashes with no advance warning during a flight, often towards the end which is really annoying. it dosent happen for ages when first installed then all of a sudden does it after id say about 20 or so flights over about a week or so. My pc specs are far way over the required amount by microsoft, its a brand new one which runs everything else no problems..... i cant think how to fix the problem- any ideas??

You could try downloading spybot which could get rid of any viruses that may be on your computer. This worked for me but it might not work for you.
Here's a link if you whish to give spybot a try...works for me!  Smile

Mine was doing basically the same thing. After spending 45 minutes or so with MS tech support, we finally deleted and reinstalled. That was the first week of July and no problems since.
YMMV but it certainly worked for me.

I have exactly the same problem here, mine just locks usually on final approach... especially annoying after a 10 hour flight!

No warnings, and I'm sure it's not overheating, i've got about about 8 fans in total in my PC.

Quoting Woady (Reply 4):

At any airport or at a particular airport? Sometimes dodgy add-on scenery or an airport AFCAD can cause that kind of problem.

Mine now crashes at random places in different planes at different airports randomly... Yesterday for example, was taxiing out at Atlanta and it crashed. I loaded up the same flight, completed a flight from Atlanta to Chicago and back, and it worked fine. Today I was taxiing out at Bermuda... and bang, machine crashed  Sad

hi
yes i have got the update but hasnt solved the problem, ive removed the program from my pc and installed flight sim again- and havent touched the troublesome aircraft that seemed to set it off before but this obviously wasnt the problem. it has now begun to do it randomly, and is so annoying..... its def not my pc because as i said its brand new and has loads of storage and memory, certainly exceeds the flight sim requirements. im so hoping i dont have the same problem with flight sim x when that comes out but in the meantime any other ideas on how to get rid of this annoying problem? Anything i havent tried???
