Freeware Aircraft?

Sat Aug 12, 2006 4:12 pm

Does anyone know of any good quality freeware model of these planes?:

Boeing 707
Saab 340
Bae 146
British Aerospace Jetstream 31
Lockheed L1011 Tristar
Douglas DC8
Fokker 50/60

If so could you put a link to it. I have looked everywhere for these but can't find a REALLY good freeware model of them.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

On Delta Virtual Airlines you have loads of free good quality aircraft.
However, you have to be a member (doesn't cost anything), before that you have to take a test.

It's worth it, you don't find any other aircraft for free out there that are as good as those

I would seriously reconsider if I was to join a VA just so I could download their airplanes.

DVA, IIRC, doesn't have any exclusive models that are just for them. They use the same aircraft that you can find on AVSIM or FlightSim.com or any other Flight Simulator website. Their A310 is the HNAC model, for instance, their L1011 and 727 models are from Vistaliners, their 737-200 is by Kittyhawk (no website avaliable since they were dissolved, but most of the base files are avaliable on FlightSim.com), the MD-80 and MD-90 series is by FFX/SGA (same deal as Kittyhawk), their 747, 757, and 767 are by Project Open Sky, and the 777 is by MelJet.

Going back to the original question, I can help you find three of the aircraft you're looking for. Vistaliners, which I linked to, is about to release their L1011, and the beta is already out. Historic Jetliners Group makes a killer 707 as well as some other retro jetliners, and Aircraft Repaints New Zealand (ARNZ) has models of all three different types of BAe 146s/Avro RJs. I highly recommend Matthias Lieberecht's panel to use with the BAe, since it's near-payware quality and comes with a detailed, 175-page operations manual.

When is the release date for the L1011? And if the beta model is already out where can I find it?

Thnx

The beta can be downloaded right from the Vistaliners site that I linked to, or go to it directly by visiting http://www.eastern-va.com/vistaliners/tribetaterms.htm . Something I forgot to mention is that the Historic Jetliners Group also has several variants of the DC-8 out, which you mentioned in the thread starter.
