Acars Ground Stations

I have the ACARSD decodeing program and need help with it please.

I need help with ACARS ground stations where and how do I put them so ACARSD can decode them? What is the range of the Ground Stations? I live 35 miles from KPHL will I hear them ? and what will I hear?

I think you might have trouble picking up messages sent from the ground at PHL. You can get messages from aircraft flying above your house, though.

You need to connect your scanner to your computers microphone jack. If your scanner is scanning the correct freqs you should open up ACARSD and start getting messages. You will probably want to use a better antenna then the original one that came with your scanner.

An example of a message I have recieved is below.

ACARS mode: 2 Aircraft reg: N944AS [ ]
Message label: 80 Block id: 2 Msg no: M54A
Flight id: AS0572 [PDX-SAN] [Alaska Airlines]
Message content:-
3J01 DSPTCH 0572/19 KPDX/KSAN .N944AS
AND OLD: Guangzhou - Baiyun (CAN / ZGGG) (closed), China">CAN U PLEZ CONLACT CRW
