Well I see the site is up and running in a new format. Never heard any reply but then I have come to expect such lately. I guess the interest level is no longer here.

Hello 777guy,
justplanes.com is being simplified a bit, we get an enormous amount of traffic for our weekly Airline News and we've improved that.. Other than that the front page is going to basically be the same...
worldairroutes.com is exactly the way it was...

and as far as new dvds... We're working on 7 new World Air Routes programs, most should be released in 2006. We're also planning a couple of re-releases from videos starting with the first one in a few weeks. On the Airport front my guess would be 3 more this year...

as far as the interest level... not sure if you mean the interest of our website, dvds or this forum...

Wow! Seven possible JustPlanes DVDs in the next 4 months would be nice! I am sure the "interest level" is there, or they would not gamble on producing them.

JustPlanes I was wondering how you guys are able to capture the ATC sound through the camera? Is there some place on the camera you hook it up to, or is that just a expensive camera feature? I want to record a cessna 172 flight but I want to record the ATC sounds instead of just having it in the background.

A cessna 172 is significantly louder than an airline cockpit.

I know, I fly. But there is a way of having the communication go directly into the camera so that I'm not just recording the background sound.

The last time someone asked us about ATC recording it ended up being a guy who started his own line of dvds so I'm sure you understand if we don't share our recipes...

We do not have anything planned with Air Atlanta at this time however we have been in talks with them for about 6-9 months so something new in 2007 cannot be ruled out...

Thanks for the reply about the AIr Atlanta but I meant re releasing the original Air Atlanta DVD which is no longer available anywhere. Mine is damaged beyond repair but I really do miss this one and I would love to replace it.

Right now none of the sold out dvds have been scheduled for a new run... I think sometime in 2007 we'll pick a few titles. The Air Atlanta will really depend on whether we do a new program with them or not..

At some point I would not rule out the possiblity of releasing part of an old video on a new dvd or combining a couple of old videos onto a dvd or something like that... but in the meantime our main focus is on releasing new dvds which considering the new security at airports is far from easy...

I believe we will release another 777 dvd before the end of the year.
I doubt Emirates will ever allow filming in their cockpits.

Hi,

If Emirates wont allow filming how about Singapore Airlines? A double DVD like the Kuwait one (or even triple like Sabena!) featuring 744, 777 and A345 would be awsome.
Or how about some of the European majors like KLM, Lufthansa, Virgin, BA etc featuring heavies? I'm guessing that they dont allow filming because there are very few in your current DVD range?

One thing is for sure, no one on earth has our experience of dealing with- and filming airlines... Tomorrow we start filming our 185th airline. We probably had talks with another 185 airlines... so take it from me, there will never be a dvd on Singapore Airlines or Emirates... certainly not by us because they won't allow us to show you what we want to show you...
I've seen a Cathay 777 dvd... but its pretty much all in the simulator... I've seen a german United 777 dvd but it's pretty much all Boeing footage and perhaps 10 minutes in the cockpit, is that what you want? Then we'll get you one of those big airlines tomorrow... but trust me, its not...
Once in a while when we feel we can get the footage we will do a major airline such as United, Air France, South African, Varig which are (or were) close to being the largest airlines in their parts of the world... but honnestly its in your best interest that we do a dvd of an airlines with 1 airplane rather than one with 601...

I absolutely agree with you on that, DVD's with more than one aircraft can be great in that you can see more aircraft on a single DVD, but it has no real focus on any one aircraft.

Too bad you won't be re-releasing sold out DVD's anytime soon. I would love to get my hands on an Air Seychelles or Air Tahiti (not Nui, the regional airline) DVD.
Any chance on another Douglas DVD? By far my most favorite aircraft manufacturer...

Keep up the good work, I love your DVD's!

We are in talks with the replication company about possibly doing new limited runs of 3 to 6 of the sold out dvds in 2007.
The Air Seychelles won't be one of them because that dvd already was run twice...

personally, i love the old props that you cover in your DVDs.

i can never get enough Twin Otter / Metroliner type DVDs. i realized that you just released one with a Metro flight, but are there any others that might be down the pike?

ideally...a good Beech C99 DVD would be a dream for me! although i believe only cargo operators are using that type anymore.

thanks for everything

We actually contacted Rex and SkyWest... Rex was extremely positive and easy to work with... SkyWest not...

QF... I doubt it...
NZ... The pilots would love it... the office people are not easy to work with... to say the least... so there you have the scoop....
