PSS Boeing 777 - Is It Worth It?

Thu Sep 07, 2006 11:12 am

Hi

I am thinking about buying the B777 from PSS and I was wondering is it worth it?

Has anyone got the panel/s working on the MelJet aircraft?

I have mixed feelings about the B777 aircraft and I just can't make up my mind...

Thanks for any help given

Dana.

I brought it about 2 months ago... I havent flown it yet!

I cant get to grips with the FMC! I am too used to the bog standard GPS!

I wasnt intending to buy it though, the shop I went to, I was hoping to get the Captain Sim 757, but they didnt have that so I purchased the PSS 777 instead! - Wish I hadn't have bothered now!

Chris with your excellent shots and seemingly good flying skills- I find it hard to believe! After I got the PM 744 and Level D 767- everything else seems so cheezy, it's like going back to training wheels.
But I know what you mean. If I hadn't spent the time (two weeks in Europe without FS) reading how to actually fly the 744, I would be lost.
The key to the FMC, in my opinon, is utilizing Flight Planning software, like FSBuild, which builds the flights based on real world data, and imports it not only to FS9, but also to the software for the FMC. Say your flying SYD-SFO. (After using FSBuild) All you have to do is put YSSYKSFO into the FMC coroute field, and it automatically programs the flight plan. Then it's just a matter of putting in flap settings, ZFW, cost index (you choose), and reserve fuel. The bloody thing even tells you take-off and landing speeds, and will land the plane for you (which is a good thing if you have FSPassengers and very bad weather). Feel free to drop me a line on this forum or email me (Ski_Tahoe62@msn.com) if you have any questions.

I brought the PSS Boeing 757 and Captains Sims B757 the other day.

Please no not bother with Captain Sims B757, its pointless. The model is floored and the panel while looking okay does not work half the time.

The auto pilot does not display certain information and the FMC tends to do its own thing.

PSS B757 after they have updated should be a lot better - lets face it, it would be impossible for it to be any worse!
