The Official Screenshot Thread. V26

Tue Oct 24, 2006 11:35 am

Hi all,

It's been very quiet in screenshot land of late...so lets wake it up again!
I just got myself a brand new pc and my FS9 rules now! I love it!!

Here are some of my shots with my new PC.

MH139 Kuala Lumpur - Adelaide

QF740 Adelaide - Sydney

I'll post some more soon,

Nice shots. I haven't flown in a while now, weekends are my flying time and now with college and pro football and my new HDTV, I've been on the couch watching TV.  Smile I am working on writing some flightplans and doing some repaints for Embraer in my spare time. I am writing flightplans to have some basic touch-n-gos and some other test flights out of the Embraer factory in Brazil. So far I have plans for a few E170s and the Legacy 600 bizjet (using the ProjectAI E135 model). I am going to expand on those and will even add in some E190s using the new E190 model that they released, but before that happens, I am going to wait for somebody to release a newer paintkit for that model, the one that comes with it is very lacking. Once I get the airport full of the E Jets and the Legacy jets, I'll post some screenshots.

Here's a KQ flight I just did. Level D 767 300ER in the new Kenya Airways paint scheme, which I love to look at! Flight from Nairobi (HKJK) to Dubai (OMDB) and the Dubai scenery is the Flytampa, which is gorgeous, enhanced by my sunset arrival time. Climbed to FL350 initially, then to FL390. Did it all real-time, though my first officer took control when I went out for dinner and a visit to the book store! ATC had me pretty high on finals so I disengaged autopilot at about 12 miles out and had a steep descent to landing. An Azerbijan Yakolev just barely took off before I landed.

Look closer to see the "Palm" as I descend through 15,000 getting set up for 12R approach.
Entering the hazy layer, thanks to AS6 Weather.

See, I knew American Eagle was first class all along!

I'm only posting one for now, so I thought I'd go full-screen. This is of the newest KPDX scenery for FS9:

These screenshots were taken on my new laptop, and are a lot better than on my old laptop, because on my old laptop, the scenery was pixelated.

Just one shot that I took while testing out the flyable AN225 from www.avsim.com as an AI controlled aircraft. I also have a movie of this flight, but do not know where to upload it. The video shows how well it behaves as an AI aircraft, despite the fact that it was not designed for it and it is also full of frame rate grabbing polys.

Some screenshots of mine:

Flight 1: Typical widebodyflight from Japan to China

Airline: ANA - All Nippon Airways
Aircraft: Boeing 747-481 (JA8098)
Flight number: NH905
Departure Airport: Tokyo/Narita (New Tokyo) International Airport, Japan (NRT/RJAA)
Destination: Beijing/Capital Airport, People's Republic of China (PEK/ZBAA)
Departure time: 10:35
Arrival time: 13:35

Flight 2: Transtasman flight with Emirates

Airline: Emirates Airlines
Aircraft: Airbus A340-541 (A6-ERJ)
Flight number: EK412
Departure Airport: Sydney/Kingsford Smith (Mascot) International Airport, Australia (SYD/YSSY)
Destination: Christchurch International Airport, New Zealand (CHC/NZCH)
Departure time: 08:30
Arrival time: 13:30

And here are three screenshots of my latest repaint, an LH A333 for the Overland model. I chose to make D-AIKE, which bears the historic name "Landshut" (for those who don't remember, Landshut was the name of the 737 (reg. D-ABCE) which got hijacked in the 70's; nevertheless, LH kept the name on the aircraft before its phaseout and now it's D-AIKE which bears this name).

It's for the Overland A330 and should be up on AVSIM soon.

That looks like either Overland or CLS to me (they're the same external model). I'd strongly recommend the Overland series - for only $20 you can get hold of fantastic renditions of the following models:

A300, A319, A320, A321, A332, A333, A342, A343, A345, A346 and A388!

Now that's value...  Wink

AVSIM. Just search for the flightplans and sort the results by date and you should find the most recent one. I can't tell you which season those are though, but it's old, that I know.

Quoting QFA380 (Reply 24):

CLS A340-500. But as Tom said, the Overland model has the exact same visual model (they're all by the same designer).

Continuing with crew familiarisation, here is a short intra-Asian widebody hop.

Airline: Cathay Pacific Airways
Aircraft: Airbus A330-343X (B-LAD, Progress Hong Kong)
Flight number: CX406
Departure Airport: Hong Kong/Chep Lap Kok International Airport, People's Republic of China/Hong Kong SAR (HKG/VHHH)
Destination: Taipei/Chiang Kai Shek International Airport, Republic of China/Taiwan (TPE/RCTP)
Departure time: 12:25
Arrival time: 14:00

Here are some screenshots from the highly popular Grand Rapids, Michigan to Nantucket, Mass route operated by American Eagle. What, you never heard of this route? Well after flying into Grand Rapids, I had no idea of where to fly to next, and Nantucket sounded like a good choice. So I fired up the Dreamwings ERJ135 and took it out for a somewhat long haul flight to the East Coast. My landing was a little rough, I was in a hurry to get on the ground and go watch the Chicago Bears/NY Giants game.  Smile

I just got myself a brand new pc and my FS9 rules now! I love it!!

Here are some of my shots with my new PC.

What kind of video card do you have? I'm looking for something that is better at processing objects at a distance. For example in DTW if I am on the taxi way you sometimes can't see the jetways or the gear on an airplane at the terminal. I know this has to be my video card causing the problem.

Any suggestions? My system supports pci-x.

You can see that no gear has been displayed on the KLM jet yet. When I got forward a bit more the gear shows up.

Great Shots! I hope to be posting again soon. Chris, What model 777 is that (The UA)? It looks like Meljet, but the paint scheme is one I have not seen before..

Some shots of a couple of recent flights:

UA880 Tokyo (Narita) - Honolulu
UA074 Honolulu - San Francisco

Great shots as usual Chris! Just a quick question..with the shots of the nose/tail taken during rotation or during flight, did you use Active Camera? If so, could you quickly explain how, since I've tried getting those views, but have not succeeded.
