Just bought a iMac, what Fsim software is available? Is it X-Plane and is it any good?

Cheers!

The only one which I am aware of is X-Plane,

I personally like it, but it pays more attention in flying rather than the scenery.
I maybe wrong but i dont think many people on anet like X-Plane.

Yes, and yes.

Of course.

The problem is that most people here are civil av plane/scheme whores, and aren't interested in flying outside 'normal' parameters.

I am one of those weirdos who likes the idea of taking an SR-71 up to 80K @ Mach 3 then pulling up and going through 100K just to see what happens. Or (I haven't done this yet) hand flying an OV re-entry.

The problem is as with all MS all the sheep flock to it and the support follows. X-plane does have a good user community, but comparing it to FS in the # of 3rd party vendors is foolish.

You may want to post this in the "Hobby" section. That's where a lot of Simmers reside and you'll get more info there.

Oh, talk to Klaus, he's the resident Apple person on a.net.  Wink

If you play microsoft FS, you may find this thread interesting. It is about one mac users ability to run FSX on the mac using bootcamp and windows xp.
