Pmdg 747 Where To Find Waypoints Info

Thu Nov 16, 2006 6:19 pm

I've just joined this website where I hope to find a few answers to a few questions regarding PMDG 747.

Ok for now can anyone tell me how to programme a flight into the FMC as the flight I'm wanting to do isn't in the saved flightplans that come with it, I need to know how I get the waypoints from airport to airport into the coroute and how I do I go about finding these waypoints.

I thought that by writing down the waypoints in the flight planner in "FS9 flightplanner" and entering them into the FMC this would be enough but I only discover that some of the waypoints are not recognised.

Any help would be great.

Thanks in advance of any help

First of all, welcome to A very wonderful place with a lot of info and great people to learn from.

The PMDG 747, its going to take a while to program this bird. I've gotten it down to about 15 minutes to program everything in. I haven't tried loading the fms from the fs flight planner, all the flights I do I program in manually. For flight plan info I highly suggest you try and then click on statistics and analisys. After that just click on recently used flight plans then type in your departure and destination airports. Then pick which flight you want to emulate and have a great flight, remember to write down the waypoints/ airways as the pmdg allows you to enter in both. For information on sids and stars go here-->

scroll down and then click on the current set of dates to make sure you have the current plates and arrivals (called cycles, every 63 days??)

Then go here-->

this website will let you download and install the current list of all sids and stars for the pmdg suite (everything pmdg last time I checked as well as other sim companies). This little download will autoload the FMS for only sids and stars, no flight plans.

That should help you for the moment, good luck!!!

You could also try
If you want to go from say Heathrow to Frankfurt you would type in EGLL and EDDF into the departure and destination boxes and select a flight level. Leave the other bits as they are and hit find route. You then get a breakdown of your flightplan with distance waypoints etc. If you then look at the bottom line you get something like:

SIDs and STARs are Standard Instrument Departures and Standard Terminal Arrival Routes and both can be found under Dep/Arr page after entering the departure and arrival codes in the FMC. One the RTE page2 you enter in this case DVR on the left under TO in the FMC on the line below you then enter UL9 in the VIA space, followed by KONAN immediatly to the left in the TO then UL607 in the VIA underneath it and so on.

Thats the jist of it but it may take some time to get used to it but it is well worth learning it as its how all modern aircraft are flown. If you have any more questions please feel free to PM me or just ask here.

if you're using FSnav then download the 737NG addon for PMDG, just do your flight plan on FSnav, hit plan-export-select 737 then save it...then just type in the name you saved it as in the FMC, hit co route and'll fly the route.

yes i said 737, it works with the 747PMDG.

so for instance i'm doing Perth-Sydney...i've done the plan on FS, exported it to the 737 PMDG, now all i do is type YPPHYSSY001 & hit co route.

it autotmatically programs the flight into the FMC.
